“What a perfect B & B!”
Reviewed 5 August 2013

We were invited to a wedding near Ithaca on July 20 and chose the William Henry Miller Inn on the recommendation of the bride. It was a great choice. I've stayed in lots of nice B & Bs but this one was not only beautiful and perfectly equipped, but it had, bar none, the kindest and most hospitable and generous innkeeper I have ever known. In the space of about 24 hours, I heard Lynette offer to iron a bridesmaid's dress, drive out of town to pick up my glasses after we checked out, and walk a guest's ancient dog while she attended the wedding! Talk about above and beyond... she's a great innkeeper, fantastic breakfast and dessert chef, and a lovely and entertaining person. Also it's a great location - near restaurants in Downtown Ithaca, etc. You won't regret staying here! Hope I have an excuse to go back soon!

This inn is truly wonderful! We recently returned from a 6 night stay and felt so comfortable and relaxed that we didn't want to leave. Lynette and her staff went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one and the food was to die for! Both the rooms we stayed in were first class, quiet and had everything we could wish for. This is a place we will never forget and one day we hope to return.

Wow!! What an excellent experience!! Lynette surely knows customer service and has trained her staff Very Well! It felt like being in Nordstroms. They could not do enough for us and went way over and above!! We can't wait to go back. The food was delicious, First Class and to top it all off a freshly baked dessert buffet at night! Ithaca is my new favorite place to visit and the ONLY place to stay is the William Henry Miller Inn!

Room Tip: If you visit when it's chilly out, ask for the "Library" room. It has a fireplace.

We just came back from a two night stay at the inn...we stayed in a room on the second floor with a small hallway and private bathroom. We could not have been happier. The room was large, bright and and very quiet at night. The attentive staff were amazing and the evening desert buffet is a unique treat. I would highly recommend this property to anyone staying in the area.

Our trips back to Ithaca will always include a stay at the William Henry Miller Inn. From the moment we arrived until our departure, we felt welcomed, pampered, and relaxed. Our room up on the third floor was so cozy, especially during an evening rain storm. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed visiting with other guests. We look forward to future stays.

I came across the Williman Henry Miller Inn in the pages of the Select Registry:Distinguished Inns of North America, so I called and couldn't be happier with the results. The inn itself is a beauty to behold: a feat of architecture that is both grand in form while offering the warmth and comfort that travelers enjoy. The room,"the turret" on the third floor was spacious, well-air conditioned, sported the most-up-to-date fixtures and amenities(bath) and most comfortable bed and chairs. In addition to these wonderful creature comforts was the warm welcome by Lynnette Scofield, the inn-keeper, and her staff members, Kate and Sylvie. Arriving late in the afternoon, we were greeted by Kate who oriented us to this beautiful home, showing us the lay-out of the rooms on the first floor, the location of information folders(area attractions/directions) , and offering us fresh lemonade. We enjoyed freshly-baked desserts in the evening; the coffee was a hot; different teas were available as well. When we returned from our excursion the following day, Lynette greeted us, inquiring about our day. She also offered us refreshments. A short while later, she brought us (on the third floor) a pitcher of freshly made strawberry lemonade perched neatly on a beautiful silver tray! She made us feel like royalty! And there were other kindnesses as well which set this innkeeper and her staff apart from all the rest. The breakfasts include variety each day,and both days of our visit, they were made-to-order, delicious, filling...and the conversations at the breakfast table added to the pleasantness of our stay. A marvelous experience... highly recommended for any traveler who cherishes the "finer things" in life.

Very much enjoyed our stay. We were in town for a family party for which guests had booked the entire Inn. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the spacious room (we stayed in Dane's Room) in a charming old house. I'm sorry that I'm not more eloquent today, but what can I say -- the Inn is precisely what we had hoped for. Delicious food, friendly and efficient staff, and nice rooms in a beautiful old home.
