The view is majestic. In the winter, the falls glitter as the sunlight reflects off the ice formations. In the spring, the waters dance off the rocks as they make their joyful music. In the summer, the water swirls around the base providing cool waters on a hot seasonal day. In the fall, the surrounding trees provide a rich color array as they turn. No matter the season, the falls provide a rich magnificent view. My recommendation. Go on the trail that parallels the falls, when the weather is nice.

Ithaca has numerous waterfalls in the city or nearby. The Ithaca Falls is located in a residential area along Fall Creek which goes through the campus of Cornell U. to it's outlet in Cayuga Lake. You have to find parking along Lake Street near the bridge over Fall Creek. There is small park at the bridge at which you can see the falls and a walking trail (very short hike, less than .25 mile) right to the falls. As seen in the picture, these and very nice waterfalls. As the falls are in the a glen you are somewhat isolated from the surrounding residential neighborhood.

Absolutely amazing. We took our kids pictures here. In the summer we would go swim bc the water was low. Check out Flat Rock too near the Cornell Plantations. Great place to swim in the summer.

It amazes me these falls are literally on the outskirts of town. It's a very short walk to some very impressive falls. Our dog met another dog at the base of the falls and had a blast running around. Both fell into the water at one point and had to be pulled out since it was a little deep and they couldn't reach the bottom. It was a very impressive view.
