“Some pluses, some minuses”
Reviewed 26 July 2012

The drinks are large and well made. Wish they had lunch time hours other than Fri-Sunday. The meals are O.K. Wait staff are friendly. I really have a problem with the 'no-reservation, but call ahead and they will fit you in when they can policy'. It is a fine place to be if it is not busy. Otherwise, watch out. Would choose to take company elsewhere given the fact there are no guarantees about being seated at a reserved time.

“Pretty good food, one serious snafu”
Reviewed 15 July 2012

Nice place with pretty good food but one serious snafu. Based on the waitress' recommendation, I ordered the Tuscan Filet and Shrimp, and made sure the waitress understood medium rare on the filet. It arrived well charred on the outside and clearly well done on the inside which the waitress embarrassingly apologized for. She returned in ten minutes with the replacement filet which again looked well charred on the outside but was now r-a-w on the inside, which the waitress again embarrassingly apologized for, as did the manager. Realizing that whoever was back there cooking the beef clearly had a skills deficit, I opted for the grilled salmon instead. The salmon was quite good.

“Overpriced pub grub”
Reviewed 9 July 2012

It's OK, but it's basically fried pub grub with a nice view.

“Great Food, Service, and View!”
Reviewed 7 July 2012

Have to admit that I have been to the Boatyard many times, but am not a regular - they have been open for over 10 years! Every time I arrive there is something new to try on the menu, which may be because I do not go there often enough! My girlfriend and I stopped in for dinner on the fourth of July. The setting is great, right on the water, and we were seated at a table outside. (the boating-themed ambiance inside is great too.) We asked to be seated at a table closer to the water and away from the door, this was no problem, and we were immediately re-seated by our server Hannah - who was terrific. Hannah was very attentive and friendly, despite the heat. The food was terrific - we had a salmon and a tuna - which we ordered "go naked" style (simply grilled with some lemon and olive oil) - just great. It was an amazing evening while watching some fireworks just out over the water in front of us. Some staff recognized us and said hello, even though we had not been there perhaps in a year. I have to get back there sooner! Really a great experience. And, you can pull up your boat!
