Description: The Heights Restaurant and H Bar was established in 1995 by Culinary Institute of America graduate James Larounis and his wife Heidi. We are located in the Village of Cayuga Heights, one mile from the center of Cornell University. The restaurant has a casual, contemporary atmosphere and features Mediterranean-inspired American cuisine. We place the utmost value on our seasonal menus and on sourcing locally. We also take great pride in our wine list which includes over 400 bottle selections from the United States and international regions, and over 20 wines by the glass. The Heights Restaurant and H Bar has been a Wine Spectator award winner since 1999.

I have Dinned at the Heights Café for lunch and Dinner numerous times and must say that it embraces every aspect of great dinning , To start with the décor is rich and warm at the same time. The Beverage program Does not have a rival in over a hundred mile radius. You will not find the typical main stream Crap that most restaurateurs try to pass off in there by the glass programs . these are all well selected wines served in excellent glassware. the bottle list is also well selected and reasonably priced .Menu is well thought out an very creative this is were I would say that may be a bit far reaching for someone looking for a plain Jane meal but that's why we I go out to eat . Every dish that I have had at this establishment hits the mark perfectly .
As far as the staffing goes it a young but Seasoned staff that prides it self on great Food and beverage Knowledge. and it Shows that the restaurant has some very Good leadership . Bravo !
ow as far as the staff goes I have always been treated with great hospitality and by the staff that knows the menu and the wines in side and out . Bravo to James and his staff for getting it right !

My husband and I ate at Heights Cafe and Grille Last weekend. The food was very good, and definitely plentiful. The service was great, attentive; our waitress was very thoughtful and timely. The prices were quite fair (we are from NYC so definitely seemed like a bargain). Also if you go - have the berry mojito; it's one the the most refreshing drinks I have ever had!
All the locals recommend this place above all, for the Ithaca area. It is away from the bustling Commons and is in a much more quiet neighborhood just north of the Cornell Campus. It's a must if you are visiting the campus and want a nice scenic dinner outside of downtown.

We ate there last weekend and had a delicious meal and excellent service. It was a little pricey, but the portions are big. We shared an appetizer and the main course comes with a large salad so we shared that as well. Most couples would feel satisfied by having 2 appetizers and one main course to share. The server was attentive and our bread was constantly replaced. We had a really good meal and enjoyed the experience.

The menu is interesting and the food is good but so many things not quite right. The server gives the specials with no prices (I hate that) and we were only told some of them (we overheard the others from the table next to us). Asked for bread twice and it came after we finished the soup. The $8 glass of beer came in a small glass that wasn't nearly full.

The food is OK. The wait staff is pleasant and chummy. We spent $120 with tip. We expected more than we received for the price.

We were at the Cellar in Corning recently and dropped $140. We had no complaints. Great meal, fantastic service, all that a good restaurant should be. The Heights could take a lesson.
