Description: Kilpatrick’s Publick House is a traditional Irish pub featuring authentic Irish-inspired and American cuisine. Our bar offers classic cocktails, Finger Lakes wines, and the most extensive draft list in the area, with 21 taps. Located next to the Hilton Garden Inn of Ithaca, we consider ourselves to be a “place for everyone,” catering not just to a steady bar crowd, but also to families and business travelers who are visiting the area.

We just happened upon Kilpatricks, and we were very pleased. The atmosphere was great, the service friendly. Loved the bar and decor. The beer selection is more than adequate (hey, it is and Irish pub). It was great not to be constantly asked if we were ready to order, as it was our first time. The menu selection was diverse and offers something for everyone. I had the Guinness burger, which was excellent. My wife had a Reuben, she was equally pleased. We'll definitely be stopping in again.

We were a party of 8 looking for a couple of drinks after a Saturday evening movie show. Kilpatricks was the answer! They were still serving dinner so they accommodated us at the bar in the back -- met our needs perfectly for conversation and drinks. Good choices of drinks -- at least 3 choices of Irish beers. The Irish fries were scrumptious.
Loved the Irish-Victorian booth theme at the back.

Request: rename the "black and tan" onion rings -- it's offensive and insensitive in an Irish Publick House

I just wanted to thank you so very much for taking the time to write your review. Our Irish-Victorian booths are a big hit with our restaurant guests.

The food is hearty and good, but the layout and atmosphere are way off. The big booths in the back are fine for private-ish business meetings or families with young kids. The main dining area feels empty and dank. Worse, it's an Irish Publick House, yet there's no mingling space: the two narrow gathering areas are also the pathways for the waitstaff to go between the kitchen and the dining area.

The lighting is bad. It's dark, but not pubby, comfortable dark -- more like skimped on quality lights drabby dark. Disappointing because I work upstairs and I know groups of us would frequent it a lot if they put some thought into the layout.

Thank you for the feedback on TripAdvisor regarding your suggestions. Kilpatrick’s is modeled after a traditional Irish Publick House. The décor was hand selected and designed to be a mirror image of a true Irish pub. The dark and light wood, Victorian lighting, the hand painted mural next to the fire place brings the feel and look that of a real Irish pub to Ithaca. We do hope you will continue to visit our very own Kilpatrick’s pub here is Ithaca. Again thank you for your suggestions.

My brother and i ran into kilpatricks to grab a bite to eat before we went to a show at the state theater last night(2/22) and decided to stop by kilpatricks. When we arrived, every single table was filled.. they were extremely busy. We were slightly concerned that the food would take an eternity and the service would be so poor BUT we were pleasantly surprised! We had a few alcoholic beverages and apps and entrees that the server suggested, they were delicious! Our server Elise and the gentleman with the impossible deep voice were on point and very tentative,Given how busy they were! Well done kilpatricks! We will be back.

Loved the atmosphere and food! Very good service! Best stew and shepherd's pie I ever tasted! My only complaint was that the restaurant/pub shares the bathroom with the adjoining hotel. Didn't know I needed a hotel card to use it.

Thank you so very much for your review. We do key our bathrooms to keep them clean and for our customers only. Being in the downtown area they can be a lot of street traffic coming in to use our restrooms. By locking the doors they are only available for our guests only. Kilpatrick’s Publick House stew and shepherd's pie is the best and our Chef takes great pride in preparing it. Each year we have an event called Ithaca vs Food which is a shepherd's pie eating contest. You should come join us this year you could be the next champion. Again thank you!
