We stayed at this hotel on a one night stopover en route to Canada. We had made a reservation for two rooms through a travel website almost a year prior to our stay and had paid in full at that time, specifically requesting non smoking rooms. On arrival at the hotel we were given two smoking rooms, both of which smelt very musty. On complaining to reception and asking to be moved to non-smoking rooms we were told that there were none available and that as we had booked through a third party these were not guaranteed. We would definitely not have completed this booking had we known this. I have since emailed my dis-satisfaction to the third party but have not had the courtesy of a response. On top of which we also had a fault smoke alarm which required attention from maintenance on four separate occasion as it was constantly beeping. In the end it had to be totally disconnected-not good for health & safety.
However despite these problems the hotel generally was clean & the breakfast, which was complimentary was reasonable. The hotel also provided a shuttle from the hotel which was convenient, the hotel being only minutes away from the airport.
On balance, despite the convenient location I would not stay at this hotel again.

We stayed here one night prior to our departure from JFK. It was very easy to find and like many have said, not in a great neighborhood, however, we weren't planning on sightseeing so it worked for us.

We were hungry, so we checked out if there was a place to eat within the four hotels that were within walking distance. The Hampton Inn did have a small, but pricey "restaurant" (setup in a banquet room) on site which was nice, but too expensive. We walked over to the Fairfield next door and had a sandwich (still somewhat expensive) in their "restaurant" (setup in their lobby). Food was pretty good at the Fairfield and worked out fine for us.

The Hampton Inn was clean and the rooms were very spacious. It was updated and not run down at all like some airport hotels. The hotel was very quiet during the night so we had a peaceful sleep. The only complaint that we had was that the beds were not the traditional Hampton Inn beds and were hard and not very comfortable, but they were doable.

Check out was simple. We didn't eat there since we were planning on eating at the airport. I did see "take along" meals at the check out counter which I thought was a nice thing to offer travelers. We drove our own car, so we didn't need a shuttle, but they were waiting right there with a smile in case we needed a ride. Our long term parking was literally right around the corner, so the location to airport parking was excellent.

The Hampton Inn was a perfect stop and we would certainly recommend staying there during your next trip through JFK!

We did not expect too much from a JFK airport hotel. But we found a cozy and surprisingly quiet hotel with very friendly and efficient service. No noise from anywhere. Excellent breakfast buffet. Effective free shuttle to/from the airport. Free wifi and extra bed, one of the rare hotels in NYC to accommodate five persons. Should we ever need a hotel at JFK we would surely choose Hampton Inn again. In the neighborhood there is really nothing to do or see so in case you have extra time you should plan to go somewhere else to see around.

I had a one night stopover at JFK and managed to find this gem. Reasonably priced, very clean, free wifi and a comfortable bed. Good breakfast, helpful staff and reliable free shuttle to the terminal. What more do you need?

You don't stay in an airport hotel for fun and many of them are like a zoo. This one is not. We had an early flight to London and did not want the hassle of getting to JFK from Manhattan by taxi at 6.00am

The check-in was efficient. There was help with the bags (we had lots) The room a decent size and not worn-out. The bathroom clean and neat. The beds were good.

There's no restaurant, but we had food sent in (plenty of choice and all very efficient) We brought a bottle of wine The breakfast is free and not bad at all.

The shuttle was excellent in both directions ( I had a car to drop off at Avis) It left on time and got us to Terminal 7 at the end of the JFK loop in just over 20 minutes

And it was good value : we pre-booked and paid about $150

We arrived late at night at JFK after a long international flight home. Easy to catch the shuttle from Federal Circle. Fast check-in,comfortable room and enjoyed the self-serve breakfast the next morning. I'll definitely be back next time we need a hotel at JFK.

First, take the shuttle from Federal Circle. Unless you know your way around the side streets of Jamaica, the possibility of getting lost is high.

The hotel itself is about an 6 minute ride from JFK. The rooms here are bigger than some that I've had in the city. The amenities are adequate. I thought the beds were downright comfortable.

The hotel is a great place to stay at if you have an early morning flight out of JFK. I departed on the 4am shuttle to JFK so I did not sample the breakfast selection. They do have hot coffee and hot water for cocoa or tea available 24 hrs.

Room Tip: I was on the 5th floor, near the elevators. I could not hear the elevators though I could hear muted...
