We flew to LGA airport and called the hotel to verify directions. But, unfortunately, the directions they gave us turned out to be completely wrong so, finally we decided to go to JFK and get their FREE shuttle to pick us up. We called and the hotel staff told us the shuttle would be right there- having waited for an hour and called for 30 minutes non-stop (they never answered the phone again) we got a cab and finally made it to the hotel only to be met by an extremely RUDE front desk staff. What shocked me the most was that the hotel owner yelled at us and told us that whatever his staff told us didn't matter and he didn't care that we were just left at the airport. We tried to cancel our reservation (there are a lot of other better hotels around) but the owner refused to give us our money back. So we had to stay there.
Overall, the hotel is very old and not very well kept- falling off tile, stains on linen, not very clean, not enough hot water- it just turns ice cold in the middle of you taking a shower. It is very noisy too. Another big problem is that is EXTREMELY hard to get anywhere from it- it took us over 2 hours to get to any attractions. On the website they say that there are subway stops nearby which is a complete misrepresentation- it'll take you an hour just to get to the subway. So if you fly to JFK and do get picked up (which as you can see may not happen) and don't plan on going anywhere ( the area is not safe) - you might consider it (just remember- it's not a nice place to spend your time at). But if you actually plan to go and see NYC-definitely find something else not to ruin your trip!

Room Tip: Stay away from this hotel all together

We stayed here during the end of June. The hotel is basic and good only to spend a night if you have a flight at odd hours. They offer complimentary airport shuttle after every one hour. The room is basic, the airconditioning in the room was not effective. Though the hotel offers complimentary wi-fi but it will only work in the lobby area as the rooms hardly get any signals. The breakfast was satisfactory. The hotel is far off from metro station so it is a task to get to the downtown area. The hotel has a big parking area in front and may be good for those renting a car as I believe parking is complimentary too. Its not worth the price we paid which was $130 a night.

Four of us arrived in JFK from Finland and on route to LA the following morning. We were looking for an affordable, clean and convenient airport hotel and this fits our purpose. The staff are friendly and helpful, but not man and woman of many words.

The hotel is about 5km from JFK airport. However, the hotel offers free shuttle (mini bus) to pick us from airport upon arrival and deliver us back there the next day. The room is clean but extremely basic. In some where, it is also a little bit run down.

The hotel also includes breakfast. There were few varieties of cereals, mueslis and lots of sweet selections like chocolate donuts, muffins, cakes etc. There was no warm food and we cannot make any specific orders. Coming from Finland, we do not eat so much sweet stuff in the morning, and we are not the 'cereal type' person. All we asked for is just a bowl of warm oat meal, that would have made our stomach happy.

There is nothing much around the hotel. We have about 2 hours to kill in the morning, we basically ended up watching TV and reading emails etc. from the room. The hotel offers free WIFI and that was a plus.

Overall, it served our purpose, nothing more.

Right fom the entrance, the warmth of the staff assure you of a good stay. The check in is swift and then begins the laborious task of lugging your baggages up the long staircase. Once up, you are welcome into cosy rooms, some with jacuzzi. Even though there is no restaurant, you are allowed limitless cups of coffee or tea, and a telephone link to Chinese restaurants that will deliver your order at no time.

Room Tip: The front rooms present a good view of the traffic.

We apologize to this guest for that situation of overbooking at the hotel, due to high-activity in the area over that weekend and our comparatively lower room rates. If fact, in honoring our agreement with booking agencies concerning our guests, we had to arrange for room at another hotel at a higher room rate, and provide shuttle pick and drop off from the JFK Airport, since that hotel does not provide this service.
Unfortunately, our guest was not happy with the arrangement with the alternative hotel. We would like to assure our guests that we are not in the habit of making these overbookings since it is a loss for us in walking guests to other hotels, but it does happen from on rare occasion.

Very close to the airport, with good rooms. There is a free airport shuttle. Staff is efficient. No catering except for breakfast, but there are good eateries nearby and you can order food from closeby restaurants

I stayed there Yesterday, which was my first night in New York. After a 24 hrs travel, I thought it was better to get hotel near the airport, I had a few options and I chose the cheapest ~ $120 (got it for $106 through Orbitz)

The room ::: The lady at reception gave me a room which was last room in the basement, the corridor was stinky but when I got in the room I was even more disappointed. It was a small room with bed occupying more than 50% of place. The bathroom is as small as it was possible.

The staff ::: The free WIFI in my room was not working, Dorothy was helpful, as she first gave me a Ethernet cable to try and when that also didn't work, she changed the room without much hassle and gave me one on the first floor.

The new room ::: This room was a bit better, wasn't stinking either, and WiFi was also working but it was as small as the last one.

Ambiance ::: I needed a good sleep after around 14 hrs of flying and jetlag. I found it there. However, I would rate it as AVG because for the amount of money they are charging, it is not worth it. I got two rooms in Beijing two years ago for one-third price and slightly bigger rooms.

Room Tip: Always avoid the room in basement.

Certainly, if this guest has stayed on in more hotels in New York with an eye on his expense, he would be having second thoughts about this review, especially concerning room size in the Big Apple.
While New York City remains prime real estate in the western hemisphere (don’t even think about making comparisons-there is only one New York City), this hotel was built a few decades back when it was more affordable to construct regular room sizes at 360 sqft(30 x 12); unlike those building of yesteryear, the new construction are much smaller at sizes of 300 sqft.
We are pleased that this first-timer to New York was able to land on his feet and make some adjustment, and thereby was at comfort in the end – much thanks to our trained staffs who will go to lengths to ensure our guests’ comfort.
We remain probably the most affordable 2-Star hotel in the area offering great amenities and comforts with a touch of human hospitality.
We thank this guest for this review and hope it serves to enlighten our new guests.
