Thank you for reviewing our hotel on your recent stay. yes if it is proximity to the airport or the expressway then the Radisson Hotel JFK is the place to be at. We are the latest addition to the Radisson family of hotels and the closest to JFK Airport.
After a week full of meetings, this hotel was a great choice. My room was clean and room service was efficient. The proximity to other locations was satisfactory. The staff was friendly and helpful I would definitely stay here every time I visit NYC.

The staff in this hotel went above and beyond our expectations. They do take care of their guest as if you are one of their regulars. They make your stay as memorable as it can be and are always thinking how to make your day and night easier , fun and relaxing! For the amount of price you pay, it is all worth it. I suggest that you include a hot breakfast too since their breakfast buffet is well worth it! I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family !

I enjoyed my stay at the Radisson JFK. The shuttle service to and from the airport was efficient. The room was large and clean upon arrival. The staff was courteous and helpful. I will definitely stay here again the next time I go to the airport in NY.

The transportation department is now equipped with a fleet of three buses and two vans to accommodate the high volume of airline crew, Park & Fly customers and holiday traffic to our property. Needed a hotel to overnight at close to JFK, I planned to take the airtrain into New York the next morning. Unlike other airports, at JFK, the free hotel shuttles do not collect from the terminals but rather from a central facility, in this case Federal Circle airtrain station, which is a free five minute airtrain ride from the terminals.
The Radisson shuttle was supposed to be every thirty minutes, but I had to wait between 45 minutes to an hour (in freezing conditions standing outside) before the bus arrived. The driver then told us we should have phoned the hotel to arrange a pickup, even though this is never mentioned to you anywhere.
The hotel itself is around 5-10 minutes drive from JFK, in what seems like a not particularly great neighbourhood, and is close to several other airport hotels. Other than the hotels there does not seem like any shops etc and the neighbourhood does not appear to be one where you would feel safe walking around.
So, if you just need somewhere close to JFK to sleep, it's fine. The hotel itself might as well be any brand, it doesn't particularly feel like a Radisson and is a pretty typical US airport hotel. Rooms are a good size, clean, and with comfortable beds. The hotel and room had a feel that they were last remodelled maybe twenty years ago, compared to a Radisson property in the UK or Europe it feels very dated.
Free WiFi internet was provided and worked very well, with good speed. I didn't use any of the restaurants nor room service, but there seemed to be a reasonable choice available, and hotel staff were friendly and efficient.
The next morning I asked the front desk if the shuttle bus would drop off at Federal Circle station, as this would suit my travel plans. I was told this was no problem and to tell the driver what I needed. When I did this he quite angrily told me no and to just get off at a terminal, he wouldn't take me where I wanted to go. At the same time he was shouting and snapping at a group of Chinese tourists who were struggling with large amounts of luggage, and in the end ordered them off the bus, left half the group on the bus and drove off leaving the group separated!
So, no complaints about the hotel if you just need somewhere to sleep close to JFK airport. Just be aware that the shuttle service is very poor (other hotels sent four or five buses around in the same time Radisson sent one) and the drivers have a terrible attitude with no customer service at all (although still hold hand out for a tip I noticed!).

Let me start by saying that we appreciate your feedback on your recent stay at our property and would like to let all our patrons know that we are in the process of adding this recommended verbiage about calling the hotel once you get to federal circle on our website.
Having said the above I would like to add that until recently Federal Circle did have a courtesy phone to call local airport area hotels and has taken away. As for the frequency of the service and culture we do see a few challenges and are in the process of ironing them out.
Everyone in the family was happy with their rooms. We did not have any problems with any of the services during our stay. The room was clean and the hotel was near everything. A great value for travel.
