“Nice and homely”
Reviewed 2 September 2013

Went to Bethel Woods for a concert and stayed at Samba Inn for 3 days. Its a nice homely place, clean, and conveniently located 10 minutes away (back road) from Bethel Woods, so you will get to beat the traffic. Samba Inn really does look like the photos on their website with the creek in the back. There was a welcome plate of homemade pastries... was really yummy and a nice gesture after the drive up from NY city. The first night we couldn't sleep with the sound of the creek (which can be loud in the still of the night), but the 2nd and 3rd nights we didn't even hear it! Slept like a log I guess.

Samba Inn is located next door to the village supermarket so its easy to pick up some stuff before they close at 7pm. We also had a meal at Samba Inn. The service is slow but the food is pretty good. I wish we had more meals here but our time took us out as the neighboring towns are 20 mins drive away.

My husband I recently went to an Eagles concert at Bethel Woods and we were having a hard time finding a place to stay. Because of the sold out concert, room prices in the area were being jacked up! Unable to find a decent hotel room, I started searching for B&B's and came across the Samba Inn & Cafe in the quaint town of Jeffersonville, NY (pop. 400). The Inn and Cafe are owned by a lovely couple (Andrea is room Brazil, hence the cuisine of the Cafe). Once Andrea told us about the back road access to Bethel Woods and emphasized that we wouldn't have to sit in traffic, we were sold. Also, the price of the room was very reasonable! We stayed in the Deck House, which was a large room with small kitchen area and decent size bathroom. The room is a real blast from the past - retro furniture from the 50's & 60's! The Cafe as well is decorated in the same era. The 2 rooms they rent are in back of the Cafe on Main Street (note that you have to park in the street because you can't get back by the rooms) Upon arriving, we were greeted by 4 'warm' delicious apple turnovers. We took our turnovers, along with our libations, and sat in the backyard listening to the beautiful stream - hard to imagine this was in the middle of town. We barely saw the owners as they focus most of their attention on the Cafe. This could be one of the reasons there is no maid service (also in need of a little repair-the sign for our room was falling off)!!. This is technically not a B&B, as there was no breakfast included, but there is a restaurant right across the street. The Samba Inn is a little rustic - however, it is very comfortable, clean and has great backdoor access to Bethel Woods! A couple of last notes... since you are right on Main Street, you will hear the trucks in the morning. Also, the back streets to get to the concert were windy and long - watch out for the deer! Over all a good experience and lots of fun!
