Katuba Guest house does everything you need from a good value place to stay. Don't expect luxury and the interiors could do with a bit of an update, but it is comfortable, the staff are welcoming and accommodating and it sits in a pleasant garden in the pretty, safe suburb of Northrise.

Terrible booking system. It took no less than 3 phone calls to make a booking. 4 days later when we turned up they had no record of us ever making a booking and they were full. Wouldn't touch them again!

My wife and I stayed at Katuba Guesthouse for 1 night and both agreed how homely the guesthouse is. The staff and owners can't do enough for you, we only stayed for 1 night but would definitely return again.

I recommend Katuba above anywhere else in Ndola, clean, affordable and a home away from home.

Thank you Mr and Mrs Goss and all the staff.

The overall service was nothing short of excellent.

The staff were very polite and ever so helpful, even going as far as arranging transport to take me to and from the airport as well as within Ndola itself.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The meals were great. The staff were so caring and would check up on me every so often to ensure that my stay was comfortable.

It was definitely a home away from home.

My wife and I spent two nights at the Katuba Guest House. First and foremost, I appreciated an owner and staff who really cared about our stay. They arranged transport to and from the airport and arranged our meals. One afternoon, they brought some fresh fruit by our room. The fridge already had water and soda in it.
Now for some details. The room is pretty standard; nothing fancy; it is comfortable. Our deluxe room had a table and a couple of upholstered chairs. We paid 300 Kw a night. There was also a table and chairs outside on our veranda. The windows were screened so we could open them at night. There was also mosquito netting in the room -- and we only saw one mosquito the entire time we were there (and that mosquito is no longer there). The double bed is firm -- a little too firm for my tastes but a European would probably say its a little too soft.
The internet worked most of the time in the room -- sometimes the internet provider's service went down but the wifi was consistent.
The other guests were a little noisy in the evenings, but it quieted down after 10:30 pm. The sound insulation is not very good -- probably due to the louvered windows.
The bathroom was okay - very clean. We did not bring shower sandals -- the tile in the shower was dry and clean so we didn't worry. Bring your own shampoo and wash cloth. The provided soap and towels were fine. The hot water in the shower worked most of the time. The water pressure in the plumbing system could be improved.
There were niceties in the room -- I told you about the refrigerator earlier. There is also a coffee pot and instant coffee, tea, sugar and mugs.
We paid for the "full breakfast" both mornings -- an additional 30 Kw. each. This included toast, two eggs, sausage, ham, and beans. We also had dinner in the evenings which was more than we could eat. You are given a choice of T-bone steak, chicken or fish for 40 Kw each. It is served with rice or chips, a vegetable (we had carrots and fresh corn), and a green salad.
The grounds are beautifully landscaped with flowers, trees, and shrubs.
Again, the owners and staff are great and very eager to please and help. We will return.

I stayed at this clean and comfortable guest house in 2013. As a single female travelling around Africa, it was important for me to feel safe, and I did at Katuba. The food was good and nothing was too much trouble for Eugene and Winnie and their loyal staff. I will definitely be staying here again whenever I pass through Zambia.

I was fortunate to stay long term in Ndola from Europe and was happy to stay at Katuba Guest House. Real friendly and understanding staff and owners. No doubt as to where I stay next time I go to Cobberbelt as tourist or business.
