Often I want to meet a friend from down state for lunch, and Kingston is a convenient destination. It has to be a destination with a vegetarian menu, and Sissy's did not disappoint.
First I must say I don't know that
I've ever been to this part of Kingston before. It is a really lovely downtown with lots of shops lots of interesting places to look at and great old stone houses.
Sissy is an assuming simple café right on the main drag. There are a few tables, and a long sit down bar. It is a comfortable place to eat sit and talk.
They had two soups on the menu one vegan and one vegetarian. The Thai cabbage soup was delicious. I followed that with the vegan dream sandwich, which
was wonderful. A sandwich with "bacon", Lots of avocado, sprouts and sauerkraut, All on toasted whole grain bread. The sandwich was wonderful. They also have a large selection of juices and smoothies as well as beer on tap.
This is a great place to go particularly if you were after a wholesome not too fancy lunch in a good place to sit and talk. The vegan dream sandwich was nine dollars, which is somewhat pricey, however I learned long ago that vegan food will prepared is not inexpensive.
