The service here was very friendly, the room was clean, and the bed comfortable. The breakfast is VERY basic. The back security door was always open, so anyone could come and go there, so that should be taken care of. The rooms at the back look out to lawn and trees, which was very nice! We would stay here again. We went on a Hudson River Sightseeing tour while staying here.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back.

... the Kingston Super 8 is half the price of any of its hotel chain rivals here, and unlike most, breakfast is thrown in with the room rate. Yes, that breakfast is VERY basic, and the place is undeniably run down — the carpet in the room was rather threadbare, and the Shredded Wheat-construction furniture crumbling at the edges. But... the (large) room had a (smallish) bath, so I wasn't stuck with just a temperamental shower (important for this elderly Brit traveller), with plentiful towels and face-cloths (why can't you get these in any Brit hotels?), the room was well cleaned, and most importantly, the (king) bed was just firm enough and very comfortable, delivering a really excellent night's sleep. The a/c worked when you wanted it to and turned off easily when you didn't, the free wifi just fired right up without any nonsense about calling the front desk for a password, and the (old) TV had a simple, easy remote that didn't try to be an all-purpose infotainment device. I found nothing to complain about, and hope I don't when I go back there to stay for round 2 of the Bard Music Festival this upcoming weekend.

We staid here two nights this past weekend, only reason that we had a disabled friend and this was the only handicapped accessible room we could find in a large radius so I was a bit scared by some of the reviews, but in the end the stay was very positive! The room was large and quiet and clean, the staff courteous, and even the complimentary breakfast very acceptable, decent coffee, cereals, toast, orange juice, and even apples... Very conveniently located near the I-87 exit but also a stone's throw form the charming historic center of Kingston and his many food option!

This hotel is EXTREMELY dirty and very run down. Filthy room and worse bathroom. Checked out within the first hour and found another hotel where I felt cleaner and safer. Backdoor to hotel which was to be locked, was WIDE open for anyone to walk in; person roaming around the parking lot talking on cellphone with a very "suggestive" conversation; stains on walls, carpeting, cigarette burns on bed cover; disgusting bathroom. Felt extremely unsafe. I'm all about a budget but this was the worst I've ever stayed in.

Room Tip: Don't check into this hotel

The price was reasonable for New York State. The room was moderately large, clean and quiet. The bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was a cold cereals with toast. The drinks were coffee, orange juice and apple juices. A local dinner is nearby for dinner.

My initial impression of this Super 8 was negative because I arrived to find three or four noisy people (presumably guests) hanging around the entrance door, drinking beer and smoking. Once I got past that, however, I really have no complaints. Although not luxurious, my room was clean and comfortable. Internet service was fine. Atmosphere was relatively quiet, and I got a good night's sleep. The breakfast was pretty much standard Super 8: nothing special but adequate. Clerks were helpful and efficient. I would stay here again.
