My wife and I have sampled Curly's food in the past at the Taste of Buffalo and other similar events and always wanted to give it a try. We finally found ourselves in the area so we stopped in for dinner. My wife ordered the citrus sangria - it was undrinkable...very sour...didn't seem to be made correctly. She notified our waiter and he kindly and promptly removed it from our table. The bartender subsequently came over and she apologized and notified us that the citrus wasn't ready and shouldn't have been served. She gave my wife a strawberry sangria for free that was delicious. Everything on the menu sounds delicious, especially all the appetizers...trying to choose two proved to be very difficult. We ultimately chose the gnocchi poutine and jerk chicken wings. Both were very good. The jerk wings were large and meaty with nice flavor. The house made blue cheese dressing served with the wings is maybe the best I've ever had. Unfortunately, an annoying fly nearby thought so too and dive bombed into the cup of blue cheese. Again, our waiter kindly and promptly removed and replaced the cup of blue cheese...and took the wings off the bill entirely. We both had pasta entrees: my wife had the silk and satin and I had the bolognese. Both were above average. I've had more flavorful pasta dishes at other competitively priced local restaurants. Perhaps their meat or seafood would've been the better choice but those dishes were nearly double the cost. It's not a place I'd make a special trip for but if we find ourselves in that neighborhood again in the next few years, we'd probably stop in.
