“get off the Northway for this one - and a great alternative to Lake George Village”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

We were up in Warrensburg visiting out daughter on her day off from her summer camp job and wanted to take her to dinner but didn't want to go into Lake George Village - too touristy and expensive.

Found this online and liked the menu variety and prices, so we went. A short drive from Northway Exit 23. It's up on a hill {so look up when you're driving or you'll pass it and have to turn around....know this from experience} on a part of Route 9 (South of exit 23) that isn't heavy with traffic. We ate outside overlooking the road and it was quiet and the weather was beautiful. The wooden picnic tables are covered - benches too, so very comfortable.

Our server, Angela (I hope I remember her name correctly), was very nice and very happy. We were able to joke with her and she seemed to enjoy our banter. At one point she was talking to us and said she was just beeped that our food was ready, she left, and was back within minutes. Our food was still steamy when cut into.

The menu had a nice variety above the standard pub food. If you are looking for pub food, you'll find it here; if you want more fine dining type options, you'll find it here. We went the pub route.

We started off with the appetizer special - buffalo chicken dip with nachos. There was even dip left once chips were gone, but the dip didn't go to waste - was a tasty topping to the fries for some folks' dinners. We also had to try their Blue Balls (chicken cordon blue meatballs) which were ok and there were 5 instead of 3-4 - and the perfect amount for all 5 of us to try.

Even with the varied menu (and nice options for specials), 4 out of 5 of us picked the fish and chips and truly enjoyed every bite. The haddock was quite large, seasoned and cooked perfectly. The portion of homemade fries was more than most of us could finish and the coleslaw was a cupful, not a spoonful. I don't recall what my husband had but he enjoyed every bite.

We were too full for dessert (tempting as the choices were). The bill for 5 adults for 2 apps, drinks and entrees came to only $103 before a very good tip. And the tip was well deserved due to the food, atmosphere and mainly the friendly, attentive server. Thank you Angela.

“Second time, still a winner”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

This was the second year a group of us ate here while at the Americade. Good service, very good food, good atmosphere, good menu selection, fair prices and cold beer. What more could one want? Nice to find a good, consistent restaurant in this area. We'll be back in June, 2015.

“Fantastic!”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

We went here for lunch & for dinner. I loved the rustic log cabin's atmosphere. My daughter loved that little peg board game too! I was very happy with the food & the service here. I want to say thank you to them for the best french dip I ever had, with an Au jus bowl big enough to fit this masterpiece! Homemade chips & mac salad. Nachos were awsome, and so were the vegetable pot stickers on the app menu, we had the second night! We had such a good time, & can hardly wait to go back soon! Thank you from all 5 of us!!

“Just Drive A Little Further”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

By far the best meal I had in Lake George last week was at the Olde Log Inn on Route 9 has you head north out of Lake George going towards Warrensburg. This was not one of those resort meals that they throw at you in downtown Lake George, but a good home cooked meal. Come hungry because the portions are huge. I even saw homemade potato chips being served with their sandwichs!
