I'm an early riser and would start my day with a short stroll to Shepard Park to watch the sun rise on the lake. Each morning the Innkeepers were up preparing breakfast for their guests. On my way through the kitchen one morning, I commented to Marilyn how she was hard at work so early in the morning. She replied by saying it's not work because she loves what she does...
On the drive back home, I wondered how to capture what it feels like to stay at LGBB... I'll describe it by saying you become part of their family while you are there. It's a cozy old home with crooked floors. It's comfortably decorated and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts are healthful and delicious. While you may expect these things in other places you stay, what was unexpected for me was how warmly the Innkeepers invite you to become part of their family for the time of your stay. They genuinely love caring for you as if you were family. Whether it's a simple chat with Marilyn's mom as she primped the flowers in the front garden, an excited smile from Caitlyn after losing a front tooth, or a friendly tip from Mike and Marilyn about where to find a nice vegetarian dinner, the entire family makes you feel cared for as if you were family. For me, that's what makes LGBB the place to stay in Lake George.More
