House of Frankenstein Wax Museum
Ranked #12 of 50 things to do in Lake George

The lobby and front facade (and costumed Frankenstein character out front) make this attraction seem somewhat amenable to kids but would not recommend for any under 10. The attraction is a series of dark hallways with moving wax exhibits behind glass windows-- lots of gore-- and some funhouse-style rooms. Good for a scare but much more gore-filled than the entrance lets on.

It was fun walking through with my family as it's not always easy to find things that everyone can do together. It wasn't very scary for the bigger kids but everyone still a got a good laugh out of it.

When you push the green button wait a little bit to see what happens! We missed the first few because we thought they weren't working, but you just have to wait a few seconds longer. We had a few screams, some cool effects. Four friends and I went thru and we all enjoyed it!

Nothing touches you! Thank god. Some of the exhibits are cheesy but others were very good. Nothing fancy or over the top, but entertaining nonetheless.

I haven't been to the wax museum in 25 years and was delighted to see it hasn't changed much. It's creepy and fun without being too scary for younger visitors. Make sure you get a photo with Frankenstein outside before you leave!
