“Beautiful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

We stayed at this most beautiful B&B for two nights and driving up to the property is just beautiful. Looks like a real castle. The staff could not have been nicer, and very helpful. We were on the second floor in the "Howe" room and it couldn't have been more comfortable. Room was spacious and I had never seen so many pillows on a bed! They do have an elevator so that was good to know (even though we didn't use it). There are airconditioners in the window, which worked well. However, I would suggest to move the drapes away from the airconditioning unit so you get the full use of the unit.
Breakfasts are included in the rate and you can order anything off the menu. Food was delicious and prepared to my liking (poached eggs).
There are only 10 rooms at the Inn and other guests were very friendly to speak to. We were there from Sunday-Tuesday, so it wasn't too noisy at all. Weekends I know are very busy with weddings, so avoid that if you can.

Just a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this property to everyone. It is only a few miles from "downtown" Lake George, but without the hustle and bustle of being right in town.

Room Tip: rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors (10 rooms total). Our "Howe" room was very quiet but...

My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary at the inn for one night. We had a perfect time and were treated so well by all the staff. We were upgraded to the Erlowest Suite and it was BEAUTIFUL! We were there in May, midweek. The cheese and wine tray you receive upon arrival was delicious and really made us feel special. We stayed here so my husband could visit Fort Ticonderoga.

Breakfast was served in the beautiful dining room and we both had the French toast. There was so much food and it was DELICIOUS! Breakfast from the menu is included in the room stay.

We loved our time here, really was perfect for our anniversary. The only negative is we wished there weren't all the development along the lake. It would have been much more grand if they hadn't developed it. But we were still able to walk down to the lake and enjoy the gorgeous scenery and you still get beautiful views from the deck of the inn. Outdoor fireplace was great too.

Thanks for giving us wonderful memories from your inn!

Happy Anniversary! The stained glass windows from our staircase is one of my favorite areas of the Inn. We are so pleased that your stay was so enjoyable and we hope you will be able to visit with us again in the future.

Our son was married 2 weeks ago at the Inn At Erlowest. Most of our family and friends stayed both at the Inn and Suncastle Resort. Alexis and her staff at the Inn were an absolute delight to work with. They knocked it out of the park!! The staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating to us all. The personal touches, attention to all our wishes, and support was wonderful. The lakeside service was just beautiful. The reception in the ballroom was more than we could ask for. The food and service were outstanding. It was an enchanting day and evening that will always be remembered by both our families. If you are looking for a very special place to stay or are in need of a wedding venue on Lake George you need to look no further!. A very good time was had by each and every one of us! A+ No complaints at all.!

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful and unique. The website does a very good job of describing each room.

Wonderful place to stay as long as you keep a few things in mind. Weekends are always booked for weddings - as in Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This may be "no big deal" or it could be "I didn't expect this much noise". That is why the weekends are booked 6 months in advance - it's all wedding parties. If you do book on the weekend and don't want the noise, a room in the back of the castle should be less noisy. The breakfast is a "sit down". They are VERY accommodating in getting you most anything you want. We must have had two chefs, as one was outstanding and the other rather average. Didn't experience the dinners as the cheapest meal will run you around $100 per person - too rich for us - but there are a lot of good places to eat in the area. Location is great! Close to the center of Lake George yet far enough away to experience peace and quiet. Views of the lake are very good. Great views from the upstairs deck or downstairs patio. Keep in mind only about 3 rooms have views of the lake - so if a view is important note there are only a few rooms with views. Everyone at the inn was very nice and friendly - A+.

I recently took my 85 year old Mother on a road trip to the Lake George area. For three glorious nights we stayed at the Inn at Erlowest. We had saved and scrimped in order to afford our stay. It did not disappoint, it was worth every penny. The staff were amazing, so friendly and warm, like most Americans. The food was incredible, our suite was beautifully appointed, the decor was fantastic, we felt like we had gone back in time. Generally I cannot afford such luxury but this was all for my mother, she loved it. Special thanks to Joanne for telling us about the Georgia O'keefe house. Lucie, Orlando, Mathew, and all the rest of the staff, you rock! You really made our trip something to remember.

The Inn at Erlowest is hard to characterize. Gothic castle-like it overlooks Lake George with multiple decks and a fire placed patio facing the lake. Everything suggests solidity and elegance from the furniture, the massive front door and the dining room (more on that later). Parking is convenient and the staff well trained and very helpful. We had to change rooms after the first night and housekeeping moved our belongings to the new room. In short it should be a welcoming and convivial place, but it misses somehow. Breakfast is described as special and is included with the room price. In fact there are rather normal choices (fresh fruit, two eggs any style, bacon or sausage, home fries and toast or muffin is one of the choices) served on china plates and with silver service. Dinner is not included and when we were there consisted of a prix fixe menu with a limited number of choices for $85 per person. Too steep. There are more attractive alternatives within easy driving distances.

We are sorry that your stay in June 2014 missed some of the marks for you. As the new General Manager, we have made a number of changes starting in July with the introduction of our new Chef Chris Bonnivier. Our service points have improved and our new menus offer a wide variety of selections a prices that fit the ambience of Erlowest and the quality of the farm to table style to which we adhere.

We also offer "dine and stay" packages from time to time to combine the eloquence of our rooms with the inspired dining options from Chef Chris. Those packages, when available, combined with our new menu choices and prices may better meet your expectations on your next stay.

We hope to see you again in 2015 to experience Erlowest another time. Thank you for choosing The Inn at Erlowest!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Inn at Erlowest and we both came away very impressed. The decor was both elegant and welcoming, and our room, which included a lovely view of the lake, was amazing. We were welcomed to our room upon arrival by champagne and a plate of cheese, crackers and fruit. After turn-down, we were greeted by a plate of delicious petit fours. We both loved the bathroom and the jacuzzi was great. The meals were wonderful, and the chef deserves commendation for his efforts. The only negative was the less-than-ideal weather, which meant less opportunity to sit on the patio in the evening by the fire and watch the sun set over the lake.

Perhaps the best part of the experience, however, was the staff; everyone we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Lisa, Joanne, Justin, Paige, and everyone else whose names we cannot remember. We do not get to go away very often (or for very long), but you helped make our little trip memorable. We would definitely recommend this establishment to other couples, and if we are fortunate enough to get back to Lake George, we know where we will stay!
