To start with, when entering the room my daughter yelled, "this place is sick". No higher praise from a teenager. The rooms are great, definitely an Adirondack motif with wood ceilings and stone floors so if you like the "3 little bears" look with updated, well appointed kitchens, this is your place. It's a good thing because the garage and elevator to get to the room are a little sketchy.

Where they lost points with me really were the strict rules. We were having a family reunion at Lake George and we were going to spend one day at 3 different places. One day at a private townhouse on the lake, one at the Sagamore where another family was staying and one day here. Well I understand that it might not be expected to have 12 extra people use the pool and beach, it was a rainy Friday afternoon and not really full to begin with. We were charged $25 each or $300 plus tax for 4 hours to go to a beach and a small pool without towel service. I asked if any kind of discount could be applied as we were all having dinner at the boathouse (part of the property) that night, but none was offered. The pool by the way is quite small and the beach for the lake is nice but certainly not expansive. Some of my guests were kind of harassed by the staff to "register" before I could get to them.

In addition, the 10 am checkout is a bit early compared to other places and the paperwork to describe the check out process emphasizes extra late fees and all the cleaning you need to do. Not to mention that our room was only ready about 3:15 to check in. Not sure why their cleaners cannot do towels and dishes if they need all day to get a room ready.

One nice aspect was the guys running golf carts and giving rides from one end of the facility to another. This is essential here if you have anyone older as the property is quite hilly and difficult to get up and down in spots.

Dinner at the boat house was very nice and the food was solid, but keep in mind the boathouse does not have air conditioning.

All and all a very nice place but with some rough service edges.

We just returned from a great five days in Lodge 8. Our brief family vacation could not have been better! The grounds are immaculate and beautifully maintained with lush flowers and gardens all around. The beach and the pool areas are wonderful for both young and old, with plenty of room for everyone without ever feeling cramped. It was nice to be a bit out of the hectic traffic of 'town" but close enough to go in and out, even for a quick run to the store. The friendly food and beverage service at the beach was an added treat, especially provided by Pat, who was so friendly all the time.
My only criticism is that we were not informed that the pull-out bed in the lodge was an air bed and, as such, the first night was terribly uncomfortable. But, that said, all in all The Lodges at Cresthaven gets a "very enthusiastic thumbs-up" on all accounts!

Room Tip: With young children you might want to choose one of the lodges close to the beach.

We live in sunny Florida and we know great family vacation destinations. The Lodges at Cresthaven at Lake George was hands down my family's favorite, no one wanted to leave. I have three boys ages 15, 7, and 5, they all played hard and slept even harder... A mom can't ask for anything more! The rooms where beautiful, clean, spacious, with a breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The staff was friendly and so helpful. We ate at several different places around the lake during our week long visit but our favorite was the boathouse on property.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lodge 1. It was clean, and for once, actually looked like the pictures on the website. It was well maintained with a breathtaking view of the lake. Great pool! The grounds are beautiful as is the little beach. We'll definitely be back.

We stayed at Cresthaven the beginning of May. The unit itself is beautiful and tastefully rustic. We stayed in Unit 43. This is a timeshare/ fractional owner resort. The property is very sloped toward the lake, so it may not be suitable for those who cannot get around easily.

Having stayed in many timeshare resorts and being a timeshare owner myself, this resort offers a wonderful stay in the area. What I cannot understand is that in this era of technology, they have room keys and not secure coded "key cards". It has been many years since I was handed a key when staying at hotels or timeshares.

Also at this resort, you have to place the towels in the wash before you checkout. Very strange. For a resort, I would think that all towels have to be washed in high temps and you cannot achieve this in a regular washing machine. What if the prior occupants did not add soap? It makes me wonder about Board of Health issues with sanitizing. Perhaps one should re-wash all the towels when arriving just to be certain. This is the first timeshare resort that we have been to that requires this.

Overall, it is a beautiful place and we did enjoy our time relaxing here. Lake George is perhaps the most beautiful lake in all the United States.

Just stayed in Lodge 21 for the weekend! The grounds were immaculate and the lodge itself could not have been better! fully stocked kitchen with everything you need to make dinner. the grill outside the lodge is a bit small if you have a lot of people but plenty of room for two steaks and shrimp. Front desk was helpful with questions and wi-fi access. About a 4 minute ride into town. would definitely return.

Came to lake George for a soccer college showcase and decided to stay somewhere nice. As usual I looked on trip advisor and saw the great reviews and photos for this place. It is even more lovely in person. The cabins are spacious and well equipped. The view is outstanding and the boathouse is located a short stroll away and the food there was great - and a lot of it! I would come back again - comfortable, warm and welcoming.
