Spent about a week here and really enjoyed it.
Our rooms were ok, well cleaned and maintained. Breakfast was good, an experience further enhanced by a 'crew' of friendly and chatty waitresses.
Lake George itself may not be everybody's taste, but we found this an excellent base for exploring the wider Adirondack area.

The hotel rooms are nice and the beds very comfortable to sleep in. However, our stay in particular was not enjoyable due to the fact that we were given a room on the 2nd floor close to the icemaking machine room. Initially we were given the room opposite the icemaking machine, which at the time was not working properly and you could hear heavy machinery noise from the corridor around the corner. Imagine then, being in the room just opposite that room. We immediately went back to reception and they changed us to a room 2 doors further down and though i complained that this was not solving the noise issue, just making the noise less unbearable, i was told, they had no other rooms (upgrade only at extra cost). A hotel of the standing they aspire to have, should have never tried in the first place, to allocate customers in a room that in their knowledge is so noisy. Other customers complained and i even suggested to have the machine turned off. I was told that the machines belonged to another company and they cannot turn them off..... Well that for me is unacceptable when i am paying to have a proper night's sleep.
Also a word of advice if you are traveling with a baby and ask for a crib: clean the crib bars yourself. The crib they brought me was dirty and had sticky things on the bars......
We also used the indoor swimming pool wish our toddler and baby. Very quickly though we left as we found the pool to be dirty, masses of hair, 2 bandages and other bits and pieces. There is also no shower for people to shower before they enter, so ....not the kind of cleanliness standards we would expect. We did not go back there again.
Breakfast was very nice, and actually the restaurant where it is served is the most pleasant aspect of this hotel, with a fireplace right in the middle, perfect size and very cozy.
They do not serve breakfast buffet daily, but when they do, it is great. Abundance of options.
Outdoors it is great for kids, swings, chessboard and other games. That was greatly appreciated despite the chilly weather.
All in all, had it not been the issue with our room and the way they handled it, our stay would have bern great.

Room Tip: Far away from icemaking machine room. They persistently wedge the door open too.

Thank you very much for staying with us. I appreciate you taking the time also to share your thoughts about your stay. I am certainly sorry to hear about the noise from our vending area. I am really not sure if it was our ice machine, or the soda machine. We could have certainly moved you further away from that area. Thank you also for your comments about our cribs. I shared them with our housekeeping team. Our grounds are definately fun for kids and families. Normally our pool is as well. Again, thank you for staying with us, it sounds like we could have made your stay a little better

I'm becoming a really big fan of the Holiday Inn - at least the one in Saratoga Springs and now Lake George as well. The lobby is beautiful with lots of seating and a nice fireplace, the staff is super friendly, they have refreshments out upon check-in, the rooms are clean, many of which have balconies with views of the lake.

We stayed for two nights, ate dinner once and breakfast once at the restaurant. Both meals were perfectly fine. There are tons of amenities for families - two pools, shuffleboard, playground, basketball courts, mini golf just to name a few. The proximity to the lake, restaurants, bars etc is ideal. Very walkable.

There's also a great fire pit in front of the hotel with Adirondack chairs for relaxing with friends and family.

I left a tip for housekeeping and she wrote back a little note "Have a great day!".

The hotel was very clean and the staff was very helpful. Wendy was our waitress at breakfast every morning of our stay (3 mornings). Wendy was super friendly and very attentative. The cookies and punch at the front desk were very nice and nice touches like this could be found all around. We very much enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back. I would recommed this hotel to my friends and family.

My eleven year old daughter LOVED the bunk bed room at this hotel. Our room had a view of the lake, a king sized bed and an adorable walled off area with a bunk bed. It was decorated with crayola crayon wall paper and a penguin theme. My 13 year old was really a bit old for this, but she appreciated the little bit of privacy which the bottom bunk and the wall afforded her in our room. I am so glad that they have this unique room design available. It really made a difference in our overall trip. This is really a great hotel. It has a nice roomy layout with fireplaces, a fire pit, beautiful swimming pools, a terrific position to view the lake and all sorts of other amenities. The hotel restaurant was surprisingly cheap as well. It is possible that the restaurant's prices go up with the room prices in the summer season. If that is the case, I might not be as enthusiastic, but we felt very happy with the fact that we opted for this hotel. I think it is the best choice of any of the places I saw in the whole lake george area.

Room Tip: The bunk bed room with a king sized bed was fabulous. I recommend it for families with 2 kids ages...

The hotel was clean. Staff very friendly (Marisa at the front desk was wonderful). The manager was on site and always available when needed (great manager). Very close to lake George. Good amenities esp for children. The cookies and lemonade at the front desk were nice touches. The only downside was the price. It was a little pricey but otherwise no complaints.

Thank you very much for your review. Thank you also for your mention of Marisa. That made her day. The cookies and beverage have become a nice tradition for us. Our guests look forward to them. I appreciate your comment regarding our rates. Although we are a little more then some of our neighbors, we do try very hard to offer a strong value, and a clean , friendly atmosphere for the rate.
We hope to see you again.

Stayed here one night by myself at the end of February. Decided to come up to the Adirondacks to go skiing at Gore Mountain. Did not want to do the 4 hour drive from NYC Saturday morning so I decided to come up Friday night and stay in the Lake George region as it is right off I-87, only 40 minutes to Gore Mountain and better selection of hotels. Saw the reviews here on Tripadvisor and saw it was ranked #1. Check in was fast and easy. Got room 216. When I got to my room the thermostat was not working properly and the room was at 99F. I tried to turn on the AC to cool down the room, but it would not blow cold air. I called the front desk stating the problem, and they sent someone from maintenance. He came up under 5 minutes. He fixed something in the HVAC unit and it started to cool again. I was also able to slightly open the window to cool down the room. Unfortunately it took several hours to cool down. The room was spacious. There was a microwave and refrigerator. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was not included with my room. Went downstairs at 6:30AM for breakfast, then checked out to go skiing. Very nice hotel, would definitely stay here again, just had bad luck with the heating/air conditioning.

Thank you very much for stopping over at our place before your day at Gore. I appreciate your comments, and am sorry about your room temperature. I was happy to see that our staff corrected it quickly. We saw many skiers here this season, and have more coming this weekend. Hopefully, we will see you next time that you come up to Gore.
