My family & I chose this hotel because we have stayed in the Lake George area before & always pass this place. It looked pretty cool from the outside being all decked out in a Polynesian theme & was within walking distance from the village. The prices were within reason as well especially for a theme hotel. When we came to check into our rooms we even got a card for a free beer at their tiki bar (however later to find out is was only for a can of Bud Lite or Coors Lite, but that was ok with me). My family & I booked out 3 rooms all next to each other, but that's when the issues started. On the plus side most of the things in the room are new this year...beds, furniture, etc. We were told a water pipe burst over the winter & they had to remodel all the rooms. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side and were very plain. No Polynesian theme décor at all. There is also no carpeting at all (both very disappointing). The floors are all white tile which are pretty cold and get slippery & dirty very easy. There were dirt/grease spots on the walls in quite a few places and the walls are pretty thin so you can hear your neighbors and people outside very easily. The one room the bathroom was left with mud all over the floor after being cleaned supposedly, the second room there were grease stains all over the sheets on the one bed and our room the ac would not turn on at all. I spoke to a woman at the front desk and she sent someone to look at our a/c unit. He couldn't figure out why it wasn't working & went to go check the circuit breakers in the main building. Nothing worked. It was now 10 at night and we were getting tired when they offered to change out the a/c unit for us, but they didn't know how long it would take. They then offered us a room on the other side of the resort, but we were already unpacked and that would also mean we would be away from the rest of the family. I asked if we could get a courtesy breakfast they told us no its run separate from the hotel. I asked about a discount on the rooms and was told I would have to speak to the manager after the holiday as she is away right now. After a discussion with the manager over the phone she offered us 20% back on our stay because of the a/c, but that's all they could do for us. They also said there is nothing they can do for the other two rooms. It took awhile, but we finally got the credit. As for the other two rooms the one just took the sheets from our spare bed and the other we got extra towels and cleaned the floors ourselves. As for the grounds they seemed fairly clean, however the indoor pool seemed a bit murky. All in all the staff seemed friendly. This place has a lot of potential & hopefully they will fix these issues. Maybe they can learn & take a page from Disney's Polynesian hotel.
