This is beautiful, well worth a visit, and a decent place to stop off on your way from Merzouga to Ouarzazate or Ait Ben Haddou. Some really nice places to walk around in this area.

“An amazing walk”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

A lovely flat walk through the gorge with hugh cliffs and a small clean river running through. The sheer size of the walls of the gorge is amazing and there are plenty of rock climbers to be seen. On the day we visited there was a herd of goats and donkeys drinking at the river. It was a delightful and peaceful walk with much to see.

“Magnificent natural wonder in Morocco”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

We stayed at a very unique hotel here, and walked along the base of the Todra Gorge. It was clear why this area is so attractive to rock climbers, and many were starting their ascents as we walked past in the morning. Access to this area is fairly easy, although it feels as remote as anywhere can be. The rock formations are amazing to see, and the trails are easy to navigate. Very worth the experience if you are in this part of Morocco.

“Todra Gorge”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

It was impressive with a massive vertical rock face lining both sides of the deep gorge for a long distance and a crystal-clear river running through. The gorge was very busy with cars and buses visiting the gorge. The setting reminded me of a large county fair in the middle of nowhere. There were lots of stalls belonging to souvenir vendors lining the steep walls along the shady narrow road winding through the gorge. Exotic brightly coloured rugs hung along the sides of the cliff walls. Donkeys and camels gathered on a small beach. People waded excitedly through the river. 4WDs drove into the river to reach several hotels and cafes on the other side, built at one end of the gorge. Lots of tourists were shopping at a huge row of souvenir stalls lining the road beyond the gorge. However, the Todra Gorge was magnificent and one could still enjoy the beauty of this amazing creation of nature.

“Stop by...if it's on your way”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

The beauty of the gorge is very much taken away by the road, buses and restaurants in the middle of it. I've been to gorges elsewhere and this one will not be nearly as memorable. Getting to the gorge can be a bit treacherous, so be warned if you are driving yourself. Although if you are driving in Morocco it’s not that much worse than most of the roads elsewhere.
