“Good brewery on Mirror Lake!”

The LPP&B is a multi-level establishment centered on the enjoyment of.....beer! We enjoyed a light dinner of wings and salad. The server went out of his way to extra items I requested be included in my salad - thanks. The noise level was a bit on the high side, but that's what you get on a Thursday night at 7pm.

“A Must-Visit Place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2014

I came here for dinner after the Lake Placid Marathon. I've been here probably over fifty times, so I'm aware of the fluctuations this place can experience.

The beer is obviously the main attraction. I would even go so far to suggest this provided a shot to the town about a decade ago when it opened. Since then, this place went from a local bar (PJ O'Neil's, which is still essentially the bar on the first floor) to a multi-story restaurant that has a bar on each floor and a kids' playroom on the third floor.

Since it's one of the bigger draws in town (many of the local bars serve their beer which gives an indication of the clout LPP&B has in town) the waits can get a little frustrating.

The food follows the beer nicely. The burgers are good, the pulled pork is the most recommended, and the ecto chicken wrap can be selected to be spicy. One of the originators of the tableside S'mores cooking, dessert is done well, too. Sunday nights (when most people have vacated town) is a good time to go. Two-for-Tuesdays can be a good time to go as well. Going for an early dinner is probably the way to go to increase your chance of getting seated with relative ease.

Even if they tell you it will be an hour wait, go an hour earlier. Grab a beer from the bar and sit outside in the Adirondack chairs or play corn hole. It's definitely worth it to wait.

“Great dinner with Great beer”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

My wife had a hamburger and I got a fish and chip everything was good, the micro brewed beers were all good. If you go, take the sampler, it will help you choose the one that you prefer. The service was good too.
If we go back to lake placid, we are sure going to stop there.

The only thing I would mention is that the menu is kind of limited.

“Decent food, bad service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

We were at this restaurant twice. First time, food was ok and service was very inattentive. Nobody working here smiles and the food takes a long time to arrive. We returned because this place is close to our hotel, but on the second visit the service was horrible. Orders took very long (over 45 minutes for simple dishes) orders were wrong, food was cold. May have been acceptable if server was apologetic and was nice about it, but no such luck. This place would be much better if the servers and staff could spare a smile or two and offer attentive, timely service and admit to their mistakes when they happen.

Ubuman, Owner at Lake Placid Pub & Brewery, responded to this review, 2 July 2014
Hello - I am sorry to hear about your experience at the Pub. Sometimes when we are very busy it does take time for the food to arrive, and all the food is handled and cooked in order, so the simplicity of the order does not really affect the timing. However, it should always come out hot and fresh, and certainly my staff should be accommodating and pleasant if mistakes are made. I apologize, and hope that you spoke to a manager so we could try to make things right for you at that exact time. I hope you will give us another try when back in LP, and, again, my apologies. Chris Ericson, owner and brewmaster, the LPP&B.
