Good location and access to lake (w free kayaks) makes this a good choice in Lake Placid. It is a big property with multiple pools and buildings and one really crowded bar/restaurant. Stay here in an affordable room and then go eat next door at any of the Mirror Lake Inn restaurants.

We booked our suite after seeing the High Peaks Resort online and reading some posts on tripadvisor. I called the reservation line and spoke with a very friendly lady named Kathy who not only gave us a nice discount (because we were on our honeymoon) but also took the time to give me alternate directions into town beause it was Ironman weekend and very busy. The location of this reort is perfect. There are 2 buildings, one on the waterfront and one on the diagonal corner of the 2 main roads. Perfect if you like to park your car and walk everywhere like we do! Brittany at check-in was very nice and gave us some good tips on restaurants and sight-seeing. Our room was beautful. The bathroom was spacious and everything was sparkling clean. The bed was comfy and the nice thing about suites is you get a full-size couch so it's comfortable to hang out in the room if you need some down time on vacation. There as plenty of room to unpack and having the mini fridge was nice. They even left us a surprise of chocolate covered strawberries, a bottle of bubbly and a handwritten note congratulating us on our marrige! The restaurant in the hotel (Dancing Bears) was fun and the food was really good. The place was packed around dinner time which is always a good sign of a great place to eat! The amenities at the resort are really nice. You have your choice of 3 different pools and they even had a nicely equipped fitness center. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone I know in the future if they plan to visit Lake Placid!

Upon our arrival we were greeted by a warm and hospitable front desk. Went to our room which was clean and met our expectations. Fun weekend would have stayed longer if possible. Location was fabulous! Recommend the Brown dog across the street for dinner. Had a nice afternoon at the dancing bear for cocktails.

We stayed in a waterfront room right on Mirror Lake and the rooms were perfect. They were clean and modern and we were able to walk right out of our sliding door to the pool or dock where there were free kayaks and boats to use. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms clean. We also ate at Dancing Bear for dinner and had a delicious meal with great service. Hotel is walkable to everywhere in town. Would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the Lake Placid area as I will always stay here when I am in town.

We stayed in a room in the building across the street from the main building and across the street from the lake.
The room was very nice. I bit dated in the actual structure, but the beds were great, the bedding was very comfortable and the room was great overall. We had a great balcony overlooking the lake and town. We were able to use all the amenities of the resort.

The courtyard pool at the main building was very nice and spacious.
The lakeside pool was the best. Great views and and area to use kayaks, swim in the lake, etc. Everything was clean and in great condition.
We also explored the two indoor pools in the building we stayed in and the main building. Heated and clean. Good for colder or rainy days.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Dancing Bears located in the main building. Traveling with a 5 year old we found our entire stay very comfortable and family friendly. The hotel is in a great location, right downtown. We could park the car and leave it there and explore downtown, walk the lake, etc.
We hope to be able to stay here again and would recommend it to everyone.

A little pricey for forth of July weekend, but we had lakeside view of the fireworks and could walk into town from our hotel easily. Extremely pretty sunrises.

We spent two nights at the High Peaks resort in the town on Lake Placid in a two queen bed room on the fifth floor overlooking the lake and mountains. The room is large with a nice bath with river rock shower and balcony. Beds are comfy and room has a refrig and free WIFI. There is a nice pool with great lounge chairs and umbrellas. Kids loved the pool. We also swam in the other outdoor pool across the road on the lake. There are free boats to take out as well. The Dancing Bears restaurant was ok for lunch. The seating outaide was nice but there was lots of noisy truck traffic at this busy corner but you are right in town which is convenient, We went back to Dancong Bears for $2 draft happy hour. My only complaint was that I did notice that rugs and floors throughout the hotel need to be vacuumed especially the stairs. Our hotel view was beautiful but overlooked the ac units on the rooftop as well as the beautiful lake and mountains. These were quite loud when we sat our on the balcony so request a view room down farther from the roof.
