My husband and I purchased a Groupon for this hotel. We stayed here Mar. 15-17 and had a wonderful time. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Our room, though a long walk from the lobby, was very comfortable and clean. The updated bathroom, with a giant walk-in shower, was a pleasant surprise, The welcoming fireplace in the lobby made a cozy place to hang out and the delicious cookies were an added nice touch. The location of the hotel is very convenient to the shops; you can park your car here and not have to move it. Our breakfasts were included and we could order any of the delicious items off the menu at the Dancing Bear, which is conveniently located in the hotel. The omelets and pancakes were delicious and the service was friendly and efficient. We also ate one dinner at the Dancing Bear, which was very tasty as well. What put the icing on the cake for us was that LP had the best snow of the season that weekend, so we had 2 days of fantastic cross country skiing followed by a dip in the hotel's hot tub. Will make a return visit in the future.

I stayed the weekend of March 28 2014 and the Hotel was awesome. Room was clean and shower was great. Great location you can walk to all the nightlife without worrying about getting a dwi. Food in the restaurant was delicious especially the nachos. Lots of shops nearby. The Olympic Arena is about a 5 minute walk.

Room and breakfast package made for a great getaway. Planned four nights were extended to six on account of it being hard to leave the relaxing and first class atmosphere. Breakfast at the Dancing Bears restaurant in the hotel is over the top in food quality and friendly service. The twin queen bed room overlooking the lake and mountains aids complete relaxation along with the clean and tastefully decorated rooms, beautiful stone shower and comfortable beds. Many features and amenities abound, including large lobby with fireplace, cozy chairs and couch where you can just relax (bring a book along), clean and well appointed exercise room, flat screen t.v. in rooms with multi channel access, free convenient parking, close to little shops in downtown Lake Placid and much more. The hospitable and professional staff help to make your stay all that it can be. A relaxing getaway was what we were looking for and our first visit to this resort demands a repeat.

We uses the ski and stay package for 3 days and had fantastic breakfasts and dinners while skiing at whiteface Mtn. The room was great, bathroom with stone show was fantastic and the beds just swallow you at night. The hotel, hot tub and pool were quiet and great. Would stay at again with a ski and stay package for this price.

This hotel is located right next to the main street. Easy to get out and about for food and shopping (although finding good food in Lake Placid is hard). Within walking distance to some of the Olympic venues. Hotel has nice rooms, good views, and free parking. The lobby is quite nice and we were impressed by the service. There is also quite a bit of history to the hotel from the last Olympic Games. Would stay here again.

We got a terrific price for the fabulous room we rented. We were surprised at how big the room was for the low price of our package deal. The staff made us feel welcomed from the beginning until the end of our stay. The internet was down and they let us use their personal front counter computer. They truly helped us make our stay special. Everyone we encountered was friendly and courteous. Wish they could come work in our town!!

Can’t say enough good things about this place. The whole experience in this hotel was just relaxing.

-can’t beat the location, right downtown and across the street from the lake. You can basically walk everywhere in town, which is especially nice if you’re going out for dinner and drinks.

-the Dancing Bears restaurant that’s attached to the hotel is awesome! We went down for breakfast every morning (part of our package deal) and it was amazing. Smoked salmon eggs Benedict/steak and eggs/breakfast wraps/pancakes etc etc. Delicious and always STUFFED. Dinner menu was just as good and decently priced.

-loved sitting by the lobby fireplace, a worker came to re-stoke the fire about every half hour. The atmosphere was so cozy, and relaxed. We brought our own drinks from the room down and it was no problem at all; you can also go down to the restaurant and grab a drink from the bar there, and bring it back up if you like. There was a lobby bar right beside the fireplace, but I don't think I ever saw anyone working there.

-rooms are modern and up to date. Cleanliness is not an issue in this hotel.

-beds were incredibly comfortable, hard to get out of them in the morning!

-the walk in rain shower was amazing, bathrooms were gorgeous

-staff were incredibly friendly, always helpful and patient with our questions.

-nice touch having hot chocolate, and homemade cookies in the lobby :)

This would be my first recommendation for anyone going to Lake Placid.

note: we did the Groupon deal, so got a standard double queen room with the breakfast included for $85/night. The normal rate is about double what we paid, but even still you can't deny the quality of the hotel itself.
