Clean rooms with nice bathroom. The view to Mirror Lake is so beautiful.
Make sure not to get a room near the ventilators or air con on the main building. Best place is near the pool. Less noice.

In general it is was a very nice stay and the staff was so nice.

I can recommend this place, I have stayed here before.

My wife booked the room on hotwire, best decision we made! Walking up to the room, we thought we didn't have a view, but we opened the door and it was on the side...gorgeous view of the lake. Room was great too, walk in shower, soaker tub with tv! Fireplace, comfortable furnishings. Great stay!

We have stayed in various hotels in Lake Placid, but by far, this is the best bang for the buck that
we've experienced. The location is downtown, very convenient to all of the shops, restaurants, and bars. The lobby is good sized and tastefully decorated in the expected Adirondack style. The reception was excellent. Our room #501 faced towards Mirror Lake and other than the roof top of the hotels meeting rooms and restaurant, we had a very impressive view. The bed was king sized, as requested, and very comfortable. The room also had a sofa with a lounge seat
on one end. Plenty of storage, fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The bath was very impressive with tile and "faux" stone on the walls and in the walk in shower. The shower had an over head shower head and a wall mounted hand held shower head. We found that when both are in use, the overhead one tends to loose a lot of pressure. Other than that minor problem, it was perfect. Our room was located at the end of a hallway near the elevator, so there was some noise at times, considering there were a few events going on in town.
The restaurant, Dancing Bears, is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We enjoyed two breakfast with our room package. It is not free to all guest. This just happened to be a package we purchased. Breakfast was very good and they had Gluten Free breads for me, so that made it more enjoyable, as most restaurants don't offer that. We had a very nice dinner and service was exceptional. The restaurant tends to be noisy, but it's not overbearing.
Parking is free and there is one level of under cover parking, which was nice to have and handicapped parking spaces right by the rear entrance to the rooms. There are two sections to the hotel, but we didn't venture to the other side. It does have 2 pools, one indoor, one outdoor. We didn't use them. It also had a very nicely equipped work out room with very up to date equipment. There are also meeting rooms for business meetings, small conventions or shows.
All in all, an excellent choice for your (or our) next visit to Lake Placid

We were part of a large travel party - two AAU girls basketball teams and their families - that came to Lake Placid for a weekend AAU tournament. We had a GREAT experience at High Peaks! Our room was beautiful, clean and spacious, with a private balcony and gorgeous view of Mirror Lake. The amenities were wonderful - the kids loved the pool. Location was perfect - short walk to several great restaurants, shopping, and the Olympic center. Of particular note - the staff was really great - extremely friendly and accommodating to all. Also, our entire group got together for dinner (over 40 people) at Dancing Bears, the onsite restaurant, and had a wonderful time - the food and ambience were great, and the service was outstanding (still trying to figure out how they used the kids' jersey numbers to coordinate separate checks when we were all sitting at different tables, but it was a perfect system :-) ). We had such a good time we are already thinking about when we can go back as a family for another visit. Thank you, High Peaks - we will be back!

We try to get away on a mini trip to Lake Placid at least once a year. We chose the High Peaks again - always enjoy our stays. The location, staff, restaurant, rooms, are all fantastic! The rooms are very spacious, free wifi is available. I strongly recommend High Peaks when staying in Lake Placid.

We really enjoyed our stay at high peaks, when we arrived, the room I reserved was not availialble for the 3 night stay, on the lake side property, I was offered an upgraded suite in the main hotel and was very satisfied with the accomodations, a two room suite with doors out to the pool/garden area and a nice view of the mountains, the property was well maintained, clean and the beds very comfortable. If we get up to lake placid again we definitely will stay at the high peaks resort. thanks for a delightful anniversary getaway.

We just stayed 1 night and this room was beautiful and comfortable. Clean and inviting. The bathroom was fabulous with a raindrop shower head and the couch was very comfy. Great location within walking distance to shops and the convention center. Will stay here again
