“Great Hotel”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

We spent 3 relaxing nights at the High Peaks Resort and loved it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was great and looked over Mirror Lake. The Fitness Facility and pool areas were clean and well equipped. The hotel is centrally located on the main street so it is a short walk to anywhere.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is going to Lake Placid.

We had an awesome stay at the High Peaks Resort. Thanks for the friendly service at front desk from Lisa! We loved our room. It was huge in size and what an amazing view. Amazing shower! Right "downtown" Lake Placid. Its where you want to stay if you visit LP!

We came to Lake Placid for an old timer's hockey game and received a package deal at this resort. We checked in at a beautiful building, but we're told that our room was in the building across the street.

Upon entering the building, we were met with a strong pungent odor...paint fumes! It must have been oil-based
paint. The smell was equally as bad in the room. Additionally, there was no air circulation and no window that could be opened! Needless to say, I had a sleepless night and could not wait to leave. I could not imagine someone with a pulmonary condition staying there. I would definitely think twice about staying in this establishment when coming to Lake Placid in the future!

Recently stayed at the High Peaks Resort, and found it to be nothing but amazing!! From happy at Dancing Bears to complimentary rentals of kayaks to go out on Mirror Lake. I truly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend staying here to anyone. Everyone was friendly from the front desk to the housekeeping staff. Thank you again for such a wonderful stay.

Great location, just what we needed for our quick getaway to lake placid. The rooms were clean and well appointed and the amenities a great value. Plus the dogs were able to travel with us which is a plus! We will definitely return.

Stayed at High Peaks Resort for a business conference in early June. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and the staff is very friendly. Our room was in the building right on the water, which I highly recommend. The view is beautiful. The location is also perfect - within walking distance of all shops. However, if you're traveling in early June, beware of these small gnats (they bite!!). We weren't able to open the door and enjoy our lakeside view without getting bit and these bugs getting into the room. Otherwise, everything else was great, including the buffet-style food they offered us during the conference. If I ever come back to Lake Placid for leisure, I'd definitely stay at High Peaks.

Right on the corner of the busiest intersection of lake placid within a 5minute walk from a dozen or so restaurants. This resort has it's own bar and restaurant and three pools. No smoking resort where you would have to walk about a minute to the parking lot for one. A medium quality room with enough space, pretty good tv stations, and a nice balcony. The shower was very good. No tub. A little bit inconvenient to get into the closet as you had to slide the bathroom door shut to open the closet door. The staff was very friendly with check in being fast and free upgrade. The food in the restaurant was a little above average and there were happy hour specials. Lots of places to pick from to mingle and socialize without worrying about driving. Great bed.
