“Spacious and comfortable”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 March 2008

We booked this through our timeshare association at a bargain price and were almost totally satisfied.
However, as with most sofa beds that aren't brand new, we were glad that we didn't have to sleep on them. Luckily I had packed an inflatable mattress just in case.
The huge downstairs bathroom had a gorgeous jacuzzi, a shower, and a sauna. The entire unit was very spacious and we five never bumped into one another.
Nice big HD TV with a million channels to choose from.
The staff were cheerful and friendly, and discounted ski tickets were a welcome find.
You can walk to town, and the surroundings are beautiful.

We spent a week in the Lake Placid Club Lodges as a timeshare exchange, however, they said all their units are all identical, whether using as a timeshare or "by the night". We were pleasantly surprised at the size (about 1700 SF) and recently updated accommodations. Wireless access was available without a hitch. DVD player played MP3s as well. Full kitchen, 2 bath, 2 BR (1 Queen, 2 twins), loft with pullout, pullout in LR, 2 outdoor decks (upper and lower level)The private sauna and jacuzzi were especially beneficial for a winter getaway. The fireplace was also very enjoyable. We brought a case of "duraflame" type logs.
Our unit overlooked a golf course with a mountain view. We were within walking distance of Main Street, which had several shops and restaurants, the Olympic Museum, Olympic Skating Oval, movie theater... Easy walk around the lake.
Lake Placid Club Lodges was supposed to have on-site cross country ski rentals, but the vendor was a no show every time we went to the location. We ended up renting elsewhere - at Cascade XC - and had a very good experience.
It was good to have a car, as the bobsledding, ski jumps, biathalon and Olympic ski trails are about ten minutes away. We did see a shuttle that could be utilized (not through the lodges) if you do not have a car. Lake Placid Club Lodges was working on getting pickup at their site, but it had not happened yet, so you may have to walk a little bit to a pickup point.

We booked this through Royal Holiday Vacation Club. The resorts are a little on the old side, but still comfortably sleeps 8 ppl. About a 15 minute drive to Whiteface. Full kitchen, with pots, pans and cutlery. 2 bathrooms, DVD player and Plasma TV were nice features. Highly recommended. We actually had doubts signing up with Royal Holiday, but so far, our first booking here was great.

Parking at the actual Whiteface was a little bit of a hassle. But just drop the party off at the front, and have one person park the car so you don't have to lug all your ski equipment. Depending on time of day, expect to park about 7-10 mins away walk, from the ski lifts.

Overall, good resort. No regrets.

We stayed at the Lake Placid Club Lodges through an RCI timeshare. The place easily accomodated 8 people. 2 Bedrooms upstairs, a pullout on the loft, and a pull out downstairs as well. The kitchen was very roomy and so was the bathroom downstairs that included a jacuzzi, sauna, shower and toilette. There was also a much smaller bathroom upstairs.

We could cut through the back yard and were able to walk right down to the Lake Placid Pub and Brewery, the lake and a playground. Mirror Lake is very peaceful and clean, Lake Placid is just a 5 minute drive at the far end of Mirror Lake. Lake Placid Club Lodges is also within walking distance from downtown and the Olympic Center. We loved Lake Placid as a whole, but staying here definately made our trip better!

One more suggestion is to buy the Summer Passport for $25 to get into all the Olympic venues, otherwise going to each place separately can become expensive quickly! Enjoy!

I stayed here during October 2003. The village is charming and has just the right number and selection of shops and restaurants. There is a small pub worth visiting that is off the main street and very close to the resort, if you can find it. You can walk to Mirror Lake and the village. The resort of also close to Whiteface and also the Adirondack Loj for access to the high peaks. It is also close the great fishing locations. Regarding the resort itself, these units are huge and you can have a party in the main bathroom with its large hottub and in suite sauna. The fireplace is nice and they leave a starter pile of firewood. The kitchen is very large, quite contemporary, and fully equiped. (There are several good grocery stores nearby) There is a patio and second floor deck (with chairs). I've stayed at just about every hotel and resort in the Placid area and this is one of the best and has amenities well beyond what you might expect. The resort office staff are friendly and helpful. The office has broadband Internet and PC available daily at no charge. The only thing I thought lacking was an indoor heated swimming pool. The units are very up-to-date and exceptionally clean. I give the place a 9.5 out of 10. Enjoy!

Good place to get away and think.I'm not much into skiing. We stayed the week of november 7th. Our lodge was nice and we really enjoyed the sauna and jacuzzi. Not much to do around town....everything closes early ,.It was nice to be close to Canada and take a day trip. I would probably not go back.. not really my speed.
