Before going further I will admit that the lodge is beautiful, stunning really. The rooms are fantastic, well equipped, beautifully furnished, and very spatious. The restaurant, lobby, and lounge are gorgeous. That being said, I was not terribly impressed with my stay. I am a regular at some true 5 star properties, like the Broadmoor and the Breakers, and this hotel while more expensive does not live up to that level of service. Examples:
- when we arrived there was no one to greet us, park the car, or open the door, ie no valet and no doorman. We carried are own bags.
- I never saw anyone at the concierge desk, and the gift shop was closed throughout our stay.
- the restaurant, lounge, and room service all had the same menu, with six appetizers and six entres, which stayed the same all three days of my stay.
- the pool was unstaffed, unkempt, and had a mineral/dirt ring at the waterline.
-the breakfast buffet was bare-bones; scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon and sausage, and a simple fruit table. No cook to order station, limited choices, and what was there was often in need of replenishment. Very uninspiring.
In general the place seemed to be running with a skeleton crew, and really needed at least twice the number if staff they had. For the price we paid I expected a significantly higher level of service. While the rooms ARE very nice, I don't think this hotel is worth anything near what they are charging. In short you are paying for the room and hotel architecture, and not much else.

Stayed here for the second year in a row. We considered a number of ski resorts for the March Break (e.g., Smuggs, Killington, Stowe) but we all decided on the Whiteface Lodge. For the number of activities they offer (for adults and teens) and the proxity to Whiteface for the best skiing in NY, we all chose to return to the Lodge. Swimming, bowling, movie nights, a great breakfast and the friendliest service, AND the best sleep we have had in a hotel ever. I don't know what mastresses they use, but my wife and I are considering getting the same for our bed at home. It's not the cheapest accomodations, but it made for a wonderful March Break!!!! We will be back!!!

We spent two nights at the lodge and it was so perfect. The staff is kind, friendly and helpful. The attention to detail regarding the rooms is outstanding. The food is delicious and there are so many activities it is hard to find the time to do them all. We went snow shoeing, sledding, skating, watched a ,movie in the theater, swam, played in the game room, etc. It was so magical and we can't wait to go back!

What an excellent hotel. My wife and I spent a weekend at the Whiteface Lodge for a little getaway and we had an excellent time. The room was fantastic, spacious and incredibly comfortable. Plus, they have a ton of amenities on the property to keep guests busy and not bored. I'd gladly return to the Whiteface Lodge in the future and hope to be able to do so.

We visited the White Face Lodge last weekend. My family loved swimming and sitting in the hot tub under the snow and stars. The outdoor skating rink is also a unique and pleasant surprise. The dining experience was fabulous. The staff was extremely accomodating and did everything to make our stay comfortable and special.

We were with two other families and we had a total of 6 kids with our group and this lodge was perfect for all. From the staff to the cleanliness this resort exceeded our expectations. Loved the outdoor pool and jacuzzi. The kids activities were perfect from the game room to the movie theatre. The food was outstanding in the restaurant and we even got to meet the General Manager of the resort. We felt very special and would definately return here very soon.

The Whiteface Lodge was a fabulous hotel to stay in. From the moment you drive up, you are greeted my a valet representative and immediately, they remove your luggage from your car and take it to your room, even before Check in. The team members are friendly, curteous and helpful. The lodge itself is beautiful and the rooms are nice with their fabulous upgrades and endless amenities. You are treated like gold! We had a studio suite, which had a full kitchen, dining area, fireplace, sofa and t.v area and a queen size bed over looking the snow and woods area, You have your own little patio which they shovel walkways for you if you decide to venture out the room. The bathroom tile floors are heated with only the best quality Toto toilets, granite counter tops and a huge jacuzzi tub. There is also a condo size washer/dryer in the suite.I was so impressed with this room, that we barely left, only to ski of course. We were able to make our own meals and enjoy the room in the robes they provide in the rooms. They come around with ice for your ice bucket that sits in a rustic looking wooden box on your table and not to mention the turn down service they provide. We did not have time to take advantage of the games room, indoor/outdoor pool or hot tub, but there was plenty to do if you found yourself bored. I will definitely be going back.
