This hotel, located on the fringe of town, was a great place to retreat to after full days of hiking, biking and sightseeing. Comfortable, clean and spacious rooms, very pleasant and attentive staff and good location all combine to make this a repeat destination for our family. We ate breakfast at the hotel twice - a good deal with 20% off coupons and daily specials. There's a great little convenience store in close proximity with good prepared foods/deli/soft serve. An easy walk into town. We will return!

Great hotel, a bit far from town to walk but no matter! We were in a King suite, very comfortable and new and clean. Checking-in was a pleasure, Eric at Front Desk went out of his way to make sure we felt welcome and had everything we needed. Plentiful buffet breakfast in the Montreal and the kids enjoyed the (albeit small) pool. A wonderful stay.

Just got back from a one night stay at the Courtyard Lake Placid with my two kids. We really enjoyed this hotel. It looks very rustic on the outside like a mountain chalet. Inside it is modern and welcoming. They have a lobby bar and a restaurant. I did not eat or drink at either so I can not comment on either but they looked nice.
Our room was very large with a long hallway as you enter that had a bar area, sink, coffee maker and mini fridge. The room was very comfortable and modern. No view though as we looked down on the roof from one window and the parking lot from another window. We did not really care since the room was so nice. The bathroom was big and again very modern (hotel is only about 4 years old).
The location is a little out of town but a very short drive away from the main street with all the shops and restaurants. There are several good restaurants right by the hotel including Chair 6 that serves a great breakfast.
The indoor pool was small, but good enough for the kids to take a quick swim.
Front desk staff was great as was the free coffee in the lobby.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again next time we are in Lake Placid.

This was our second stay at the Courtyard in Lake Placid.
It is an excellent hotel, the rooms are spotless and very comfortable.
The breakfast ($), is excellent and very reasonable.
The hotel is a little distance from downtown Lake Placid, but not an inconvenience.
Check in was fast and friendly.
If you are visiting this area, I would highly recommend the Courtyard for your stay.

Everything about the Marriott in Lake Placid is lovely. The staff was wonderful and ver accommodating and the guest rooms were spacious and well appointed. I was surprised with how nice the hotel was on the inside and out. You can tell that its a very well kept property. The location is set outside of the center of town, but for me that was no problem as I was travlling solo. I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the common areas as well as the rooms. The Market where you could pick up a light snack or drink was great as there were choices other than soda. It was nice to be able to get a juice when getting in late and not having to go into town or to the store. The pool and fitness center were spotless and very convenient as well. I was really impressed with how wonderful the staff were. This has definately improved my perception of what the Marriott Brand has to offer. I will definately come back as well as stay at other Marriott's from now on!

We have stayed here a few times in the last 2 years, and always hated to leave. The changes in personnel and overall respect to the hotel itself have measurable declined. unfortunately the entire facility felt "dirty" and unkempt. Noticeable dust was everywhere, as if no one had dusted in the lounge area for months, and also in our room. the floors were very grungy and elevator carpets beyond disgusting. Public bathrooms were filthy with garbage overflowing. workout area hasnt been cleaned in months. there definitely is no one in charge of the housekeeping staff. New sheets were wrinkled and mussy, felt as if they were still from a previous guest. We especially made note of absence of the wonderful woman who was once in charge of the restaurant and bar. She always remembered our names, and asked about family events we shared with her. Her welcome and treatment of us made us feel at home. The bartender was very lacking in attention and hospitality. Where we used to spend breakfast and lounge time every day, after the first day, decided to forego the tradition, as we did not feel appreciated. Front desk staff was decidedly rude and unhelpful. whoever the night manager is desperately needs some training in customer service. his demeanor has always been borderline, but now has gotten worse. Overall, we are disappointed to feel we no longer want to stay at this hotel, and for our next visit will search out another home.

Great hotel, very clean, good rates, nice staff. Liked the couch in the room, it's more comfortable to watch TV than a bed...
