We first stayed a couple of nights in a hotel at the capital of sao tome where we were dissapointed about the services and the unprofressionalisme of the staff. So when we took the little plane to this island we hoped this hotel would be better, and it was Perfect.

The staff was very helpfull and they all talked english.

We were located on a bungalow just in front of the sea, so we were not disturbed by other guests and it was really like being at paradise. The only problem with our bungalow is that we would not close the door properly so this one needs to get fixed.

The food was outstanding with all compliment to chef Ramos and the restaurant team Every day they surprised us with local delicious food. Only 'negative point' is that is was so good we could't stop eating but 1 week every day 2 times a starter, main dish and dessert is too much so they were a bit dissapointed when we only eat the starter.

The staff all over the property was so nice mainly joao with who we went on excursion. The price was very low for all the things he showed us.

So we would really recomend this hotel and it will be nice to travel directly for Lisbon to Principe in the future.

So keep up the good work and we will certainly come back

Superb setting and landscape design. Individual bungalows are very well appointed with huge luxurious beds with adequate light to read (if you are so inclined before bedtime.) Watching a tropical rainstorm from the private veranda is absolutely delightful as kingfishers perch on railings or call from nearby trees. Beautiful gardens attract sunbirds and other island endemics. The hotel and restaurant staff are very friendly and helpful. There are three reasons this resort did not rate five stars. Both nights a large buffet dinner was served al fresco and I, for one, would have appreciated more illumination. The food was very good, but not outstanding, and the desserts were overly sweet. Another issue has been mentioned by others - the power is turned off at night. It is also rather pricey because of its isolation.

Bom Bom Island Resort is an excellent choice for eco travelers, snorklers and hikers. The rooms are mostly individual huts/lodges that are set right on the beach. They were clean and properly appointed for the location. The beds were firm and comfortable and perfect for naps between swimming, snorkling and beers at the bar. The gentle surf at the front door was wonderfully relaxing. The food was excellent if a little pricy. The only drawback is the cutting of power at exactly midnight and until 6:00 am. If you require your a/c to sleep, then this should be known in advance of booking. For me it wasn't much of an issue.

The location can't be beat and the designers did an excellent job marrying the buildings to the surroundings. The waters are pristine with lots of sealife for fishing or swimming. The beach was clean with no trash. That is increasing difficult to find at even the remotest places. Speaking of remote Bom Bom takes the cake! This is really getting away from it all. I enjoyed myself immensely.

Room Tip: Choose an individual hut right on the beach or one of two rooms perched high on the rock. Be prepare...

Principe is truly amazing and this resort is for sure one of the best things on the island.
The nature scenery where it is setup is unique and really beautiful, the most amazing clear sea surrounded by the forest, you will be at the beach listening to the waves and the birds at the same time, which gives you a total peace with nature feeling.
The owners are very keen on maintaining the beautiful grounds and gardens and keep working on the bungalows towards to achieve a total eco lodge resort.
Everybody is always looking out for your needs and are extremely nice, from the driver that picks you up on the airport, the receptionists, the manager, the owner, everybody at the restaurant and bar.
Truly unforgettable place and experience.
Thank you for sharing this piece of heaven.

Location is stunning, as is landscape layout designed for the property, with two stunning half km private beaches, with no local villages having access to! Rooms are slightly outdated, but with so much to do, who cares! Portugease staff are really working hard to give a vibe to the place.

The island of Principe has to be one of the most amazing places on the face of the earth. Gorgeous beaches, lush jungle, excellent hiking, crumbling colonial towns, friendly people.

Bom Bom resort situated on and around the Bom Bom island off Principe has one of the best settings in the island. With about 20 bungalows, you are guaranteed almost complete privacy in one of the best beaches you will ever see. The place offers a number of excursions, so is a good and comfortable base for exploring the island.

Despite the high prices, I wouldn't call the resort very luxurious. When we stayed (almost a year ago) there was limited hot water, and electricity was turned off from midnight to 6AM. My wife and I did not mind this however, and felt that flawless luxury would almost detract from the setting and its isolation.

The food was excellent.
