Stayed for 2 nights during May as we travelled from The Kruger down SA via PE to Cape Town. Narrow road from main road could be improved as there were some large pot holes and the bank had slipped away in 1 place. Our 2 night stay came as a welcome rest during a long drive!!. We arrived just in time for afternoon tea and cakes, this should have given us an idea that we were going to be eating plenty during the next 48 hours. The food was delicious. We went on the Sun Downer cruise and our guide brought along a bucket of fish. After about 20 mins he cut the engine and began whistling, an African Fish Eagle appeared and dropped into the river for one of the fish which he took into a nearby tree. Further up the river again the whistle but this time 2 eagles appeared. The guide was as excited as we were as the eagles had not been seen for some weeks following bad rain. A trip not to be missed. The rooms were very comfortable, the shower was rather unique with a wooden screen between you and the great outdoors. We entered into the pub quiz on both evenings didn't win but didn't disgrace ourselves either. We travelled with my husbands brother & his wife who live in SA and they definitely plan to return.
