“AMAZING FOOD, RELAXING POOL”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

Brisk Hotel is set back from the usual hustle of a main road. It is tucked away into a quiet spot which adds to the relaxation of time away from the usual stress. It has fair prices with good food, sumptuous and tasty. The pool is not much used , and so you have privacy though you pay for swimming separately. All in all it is a good excursion to eat and swim.

Brisk hotel is a beautiful hotel and it has best lake/river Nile view. We had a night there, the food wasn't good at night thought we reached at 9pm and had no Indian chef and on room the shower wasn't working. We relocated to nearby hotel for dinner. We caught a boat to the source of the Nile which was amazing trip. Wifi was excellent and we didn't have any problems. I can recommend somone to have a stay.

Its cheap so you pay for what you get but what you don't pay for is the theft of anything you value.
The worst thing is you know its either the staff (that's including the security) or they allow someone from outside access. My advice is, if you really have to use their facilities make sure that any thing you value you is kept within your eye sight

This is certainly a budget hotel, so don't expect anything fancy (ex. they have free wifi, but at excurciatingly slow speed, no shower curtains, screens on windows, or A/C.) I had no problem with the hot water. Great location for the price.

Views were absolutely incredible, and staff was friendly. There is no room safe so if you're concerned about theft, leave your valuables at the front desk.

My main complaint was about the insects. Some areas of the hotel seemed worse than others. Daytime is fine, they only come out at night. Walking to my room at night and out in the morning I was crunching over tons of dead bug bodies. No matter how quickly I tried to enter the room hundreds of bugs got in with me with the consequence that there were bugs EVERYWHERE, including all over the bed. I learned to put the mosquito net down before going out for dinner so even if the room was infested at least the bed was mostly clean.

The other complaint I have is that I had an asthma attack each night due to the extreme amounts of insect killer they apply in the rooms every morning and then leave the windows closed all day (to prevent bugs coming in as there are no screens.) In fact when I went back to my room one morning shortly after cleaning it and I couldn't even breathe the chemical odour was so overpowering.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view.

Never again!
Dont even know where to start....
Have booked 3 nights, but left after the first.
The rooms are lousy - the foam matress was so thin and worn out, that i felt i was lying directly on the iron lamellae all night, the mosquito net was to small to cover the bed (single net for a double bed), the pillows were so high that we got neck pain and headache for several days afterwards.
Next morning we found out that there was no cold water in the shower, so if we wanted a bath i was in boiling water, i then asked in the reception if it really was the "de luxe" room as we ordered, but was told that it was a standard room. The receptionist then showet me a de luxe room - only difference was the de luxe room also had a sofa! Matresses, pillows and mosquito nets were the exact same.
We then decided to check out, but then they wanted payment for de luxe room, because that was what we had ordered!!!
Argued with the hotel for half an hour, and ended up just leaving the amount for a standard room on the desk, and left!

One of the best places , i have stayed.
The hotel is on the lake bed.
Not far off, the source of River Nile., the Godess of north aftica,
This river has a known history of 7000 plus years
The receptionists are warm, helpful. Clear.
The rooms, are bit old., but clean.
NO AIR CONDITIONERS., FANS., but you do not need.
If needed., table fans are provided.
All the rooms are on the water front.
You can enjoy well from the balcony.
The lake flys are attracted by the lights. Hence all the rooms are lit., dull.
If from India , you can ask for indian food., which is provided happily.
You need to try MATOKE., a food made with banana., can be taken with sugar or sauce. GREAT.

THE PLACE IS VERY SAFE.
Taxis are made available on a short note by the receptionists.

Cleanliness in food area ., a bit to be improved
You can see birds dipping into water, keeping only their beaks out, and swimming.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms in ground floor.,

i don't recommend it to anyone, it is a waste of money. We spent our anniversary there and it was a mess, our booking was forgotten, we had to make do with the only available rooms, not water, in rooms, no closet, no mirrors, old chairs, poorly maintained bathroom with dirty basin and jerrycan of water near toilet, window panes are disgustingly dirty, insects lying all over the place, broken windows. Never waste your money here everything in dirty
