We found this place five years ago and loved it, so we made a point of seeing if was still in biz. Wow! Bigger better menu. Great lunch. Excellent price to value. First rate service. The train station ambiance with memorable music and sound effects.

We stopped for dinner on a week night as we just happened by the restaurant. The restaurant is housed in an old train depot and the decor capitalizes on the historic setting. For example, we enjoyed the background music from the 40s. We were greeted and seated promptly and the menu was explained to us by a friendly waitress. The menu features a nice selection of choices with emphasis on familiar comfort food all freshly made. We were brought our beverages and a basket of warmed (not microwaved) home-made breads and rolls accompanied by a cup of soft butter to eat while we decided on our selections. They were all delicious! I selected the fresh haddock fish fry with a baked potato and side salad. My husband chose the fried shrimp which was served with a rice pilaf, glazed baby carrots and a side salad. Our salads contained a variety of fresh greens with some other less common ingredients--sliced summer squash, green pepper and cherry tomato and were crisp and perfectly dressed. Entrees were also fresh, crisp, and well-seasoned. Service was excellent throughout the meal. We were so impressed with the salads and entrees that we ordered desserts to go. Although these were also homemade, they were less impressive and just ok--which is the only reason I'm not giving it a rating of excellent.. The bill for two of us (dinner, beverage and desserts) was only about $40 making this a great value for the money.

We used D&R for the caterer at our wedding. They were very difficult to get in touch with after we paid our deposit . Unfortunately, there was quite a bit of bait and switching involved. Everything became a chore, we had to beg for the littlest things, things that had been promised during our first meeting. (Unfortunately, the venue we used only allows you to rent through D&R.) We could have used a different caterer, but this was never communicated to us, much to the dismay of to the venue itself. We were not informed that we were not dealing with the venue until after the wedding. The food was decent, but totally not worth the hassle. I would not recommend using D&R.

This little, charming X-train station turned restaurant was well worth the drive from North Tonawanda. I'd been there several years ago for lunch with my cousins & I was just as pleased with it's nostalgic charm, delicious food & reasonable priced food!!! Turns out the lady that escorted us to the table was the owner -- soo sweet. The waitress was very nice & accommodating. We were pleased with the service. The french onion soup with the little scissors to cut the cheese was delicious. Three of us had the chicken pot pie, very good. One fish fry, must have been good cause he ate the whole thing. All in all, we plan on a return visit during the summer when we take one of our liesurely drives! I got a star from my husband & friends for recommending this restaurant.

This place is cool..... both dining rooms have upside down electric trains on the ceiling, and the whole restaursnt is decorated with authentic train memorabilia from various countries. Although the station is a restaurant now, trains still rumble by. All the food is good, but the burgers, many varieties available, are great. They are large, juicy, and perfectly prepared. From burgers to fancy din er items, you really cant go wrong here.
