“We did not want to leave!”
Reviewed 6 January 2013

My husband and I stayed here for our 10 year anniversary. We brought our 10 year Ausi-Shepard with us and felt like we were home! The accommodations were that of a 4 star hotel. When you think of a cabin you think rustic. It was a quiet country setting but yet was luxurious with its detail to the linen and towels in the bathroom. Well appointed kitchen which included a full length fridge and living room with a cable tv and wood fireplace. The wood was delivered every night for us to build a fire outside. I can't say enough about the warm picnic basket breakfasts that were delivered to our door every morning. Delicious!!! We have made this our place to go every year for our anniversay! Brenda had all the events laid out for us to enjoy the weekend. Even a happy anniversary card with champaigne when we arrived. We recommend this to anyone who is looking for a quality relaxtion getaway. You won't regred it : )

My boyfriend and I are hesitant to rave about this place because we don't want it to book up!!! We went up in the middle of a snow storm in December. I called Brenda to see if we could come up earlier and she was very accommodating. The cabins are very clean, well decorated and very cozy! It was a perfect weekend getaway! We LOVED the breakfast, it was truly a great treat. The picnic basket it was delivered in was the perfect touch. We were a little weary about animal hair because these cabins are pet friendly, but it was SPOTLESS. There was a German Shepard in the cabin just a few hours before we arrived. The cabins are located a very short distance from wonderful wineries (we recommend Americana) and also 30 mins from Ithaca, a wonderful town that makes a great day trip! We can't wait to get back up there. I have been bugging my boyfriend all week to make reservations for this weekend :) We plan to go back in the summer, when we can really enjoy the outdoors and not freeze in the snow. I can't say enough about this place, it makes a wonderful getaway!

Room Tip: The swimming pool is a jaquzzi, we even went in it when it was 20 degrees out! It is enclosed.

There was 9 adults and we rented both cabins. We can't say enough about the place. We loved it and had a great time. The cabins were perfect. Very clean and they had just the right amount of everything that you need. We cooked a thanksgiving dinner together and all were able to also eat togther on one of the cabins due to the table, futon and chairs. Plenty of room. The breakfasts were amazing and delivered hot to each porch each morning. We felt well taken care of but were also given our space. Brenda was also awesome providing brochures and gave suggestions of what to do in the area. Great Great place!!

The cabins were beautiful, clean, well appointed. The only drawback I could find was that there was no room for a suitcase in the kids room and you couldn't have the bathroom light on without the very noisy fan. The top bunk in the kids room needed a guard rail as well(my 7 year old drew pictures of his dreams of falling out!) The hot tub was wonderful, as was having a fire pit all set to go for us(No "roughing it" necessary). The kids and the dog enjoyed running around the spacious and private yard. Lets not forget the super yummy breakfasts!!!! Our hosts were attentive, yet not intrusive. I just wish the surrounding towns had more to offer. The wine trail was fun, but that's pretty much all we found out there. Having Lodi state park close by was a godsend-swimming and biking each day. We made good use of the kitchen there because there wasn't a descent place in the area to get dinner. We definitely would recommend this place to stay if you're visiting the area!

I'm so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. Yes, storage is an issue in the second bedroom (as a previous reviewer mentioned) but there is additional storage in the wardrobe in the great room and I will certainly continue to research other solutions. Unfortunately, the fan in the bathroom will never be separate from the light because of the moisture created by steam from the shower. We have however, mounted a full length mirror on the back of both bedroom doors to allow women to apply makeup in better lighting without the noise from the bathroom fan. While there are guard rails on the bunk beds, if a child is afraid of heights and the bottom bunk isn't available there is a full-sized futon (with linens) in the great room. I do wish that you had come to the office or called for advice on activities and dining options. My husband and I are always available for guidance. There are numerous activities for children of all ages within a half hour drive and over twenty restaurants within twenty minutes. I'm always happy to check hours and/or make reservations for our guests.

Very quiet and peaceful setting. The breakfast was amazing and consisted of a variety of pastries, fruits, juices and even a delicious frittata and french toast. We could not wait the next morning to open up the picnic basket. The porch and yard is roomy and peaceful. There is a fire pit with logs provided, a picnic table and adirondack chairs on the porch. There are hummingbirds coming to the feeder off the porch. What a treat! The main room is adequate with a small kitchen table, microwave, stove, refrigerator, coffee maker. The hosts made sure there was some cream in the fridge for coffee in the morning. Thank you. The Living area is small but with the outside porch, it works fine for a family of 4. One bedroom has a queen bed with a roomy cupboard for clothing, the second bedroom has bunk beds and is very tight, with no storage for clothing and it was difficult to put the suitcases under the bed. One drawback is that it is pretty far from the main town of Trumansburg and many of the restaurants there are closed certain days. This place is great due to the fact it is between Seneca and Cayuga lakes. There are many great hiking areas with gorges and waterfalls. The other drawback is lack of wifi, as we read the newspaper on our kindles and this requires wifi. If we were close to the jacuzzi, we could get wifi reception. Mike and Brenda are very attentive and courteous hosts. We will return. Thanks for a terrific stay.

Room Tip: 2 bedrooms. 2 twin, 1 queen, 1 futon in LR. Ac in main room. Shaded area, did not need it in the bed...

I LOVE this place! The cabins are small but well laid out and well equipped and beautifully kept. Everything looked brand new, and some great amenities were provided (other reviewers mentioned these already). The hot tub was really great, its enclosed in a gazebo so the bugs won't bother you, and a fan to keep a nice breeze.

The homemade breakfast provided is amazing! Each morning there was a hot dish, like a quiche or fritatta or egg bake; and a pastry, like muffins or scones; and some fresh fruit and juices. We all oooed and ahhhed while we gobbled it down.

The location is right in between Seneca and Cayuga lakes, so its very easy access to many wineries and local shops, it made for easy touring. The cabins are in a fairly wooded area so its relatively cool and comfortable, even during 90 degree days (like when we stayed!).

I will definitely come back again the next time I visit the Finger Lakes region!

Room Tip: The two cabins are exactly the same in layout and amenities.

My boyfriend and I first stayed at Mill Creek Cabins in September 2011 after Hurricane Irene disrupted our Outer Banks vacation plans. We had a week off, but where to go last minute, and somewhere that would allow dogs? We had never been to the Finger Lakes and chose it simply because we could drive there. Fortunately, we were able to squeeze in four days at Mill Creek cabins. We couldn't have been more surprised and happy with those fours days. We both agreed that this is the first vacation we'd like to repeat.

In April 2012 we got married and chose Mill Creek Cabins for our honeymoon. We bought lots of wine, we hiked, we rode our bikes (be prepared for hills), we ate at Dano's and Stonecat Cafe, we slept 9-10 hours every night, we saw some spectacular scenery, and we got to enjoy it with our dog.

The property is lovely, cared-for, and well-situated near the Seneca Wine trail and its best restaurants, as well as Cayuga Lake, the Finger Lakes National Forest, and Taughannack and Watkins Glen State Parks. The cabins are cozy and appointed with pretty much anything you'll need (even containers to pack snacks). We ate so well every morning - those breakfasts are amazing. We love being able to dine out (and dine out well) well or stay at home and grill our own food. We also loved porch sitting and having a private fire in the evenings - really, relaxation at its best.

Most importantly, Brenda and Mike are really nice, friendly people.

The dog was disappointed to learn that we didn't actually move there. I guess that means we'll have to go back.
