Arrived to our cabin after a warm welcome. Brenda and Mike think of absolutely everything, and I mean everything you will need while staying in their cabin....even half&half in the fridge!
Before we entered the cabin, we noticed that Mike had constructed a "ready to light" fire in the fire pit. He gave a quick tour of the cabin and all of its amenities. There was a remote control for the indoor gas fireplace, every single piece of cookware needed, extra blankets, extra pillow, an assortment of coffees and teas, fresh cut flowers on the kitchen table, all kinds of towels and washclothes in the bathroom, soap, shampoo, conditioner, moisturizing lotion, salt, pepper, tin foil, matches, a hair dryer ( and my girlfriend mentioned more than once that the hair dryer was better than her own! ) ... the list goes on and on. Let me tell you that the cabin is furnished with quality furniture and comfy beds in both bedrooms. And then, don't forget...there's the killer hot tub in the gazebo just across the lighted path. Awesome!
At 8am on our first morning (you can request a later time) we heard a little knock on the door. I found a basket on our door step. Inside......french toast, local sausage, local maple syrup, hash browns, fresh strawberries, an assortment of juices... wow! I sat and ate while Monica slept !
The second morning there was a gorgeous, scrumptious frittata, fresh baked orange scones and a side of cantaloupe. Oh boy... I need to get that recipe from Brenda.
There's lots to do in the area. Great hikes thru the National Forest. That's what we like.
We hiked down to Seneca Lake past vineyards and admired the quiet beauty. We also took a short drive to Taughannock Falls and hiked along the waterfalls. Absolutely beautiful. We went on to Ithaca Falls / Fall Creek. Really nice.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something about the cabin and our stay..... but trust me.... it's all good!
We will be back for sure.
