I have probably been to this restaurant more than 100 times over a few years. The food is always excellent and a foodie's delight. You will always find something fresh and yummy to try. Their South of the Border Chicken Soup is simply amazing, among one of the best 5 soups I have tasted in my life, only draw back is that you don't get it in summer. The chef Victor is very talented, and dishes out some of the most tasty mexican food I have ever had- forget all the other joints you have heard of, this is mexican food at it's most authentic and addictive in the NY area. Other must tries are the Chee-Waa-Waa wrap, Calypso Salad, empanadas, sweet plantains, El Jefe and Pollo Loco quesadillas. Even their sauces and dressings are incredible, especially the salsa verde and mango chutney. It's a great place to get a quick meal on the way to the beach, not a sit-down restaurant, but a very casual dining experience, and very reasonable prices.
They had been hit by hurricane Sandy, so please show your support for this amazing Long Beach restaurant so they stay open!- it's worth it!
