We stayed here Mar 28--30. We arrived late after midnight on 27th and had told them about it--anyways there is 1 24-hr service and our room was ready. It is so close to the airport as well--cost us $14 for the cab. This proved a good base for our sight seeing as the metro is steps away. The room is large, comfy and the breakfast was decent as well. They stored our bags on Sunday till we were ready to leave for our evening flight

This hotel was in a great location within steps of the subway. The room was large and well appointed for NY. There was a great balcony that offered spectacular views of Manhattan. The front desk staff was very cordial and helpful. This hotel was a great find just 10 minutes from downtown Manhattan. Highly recommended hotel at a great nightly rate!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony. They offer remarkable views of the city!

I would've given this hotel a 4 stars, if the female concierge had solve the issue with the broken blinds, Instead of telling me and I quote " you can go to the hotel across the street".
On the other hand, one of their bellman (Chad) was very exceptional. Very helpful, friendly and professional. As for most of the staff members, they were friendly. Complimentary breakfast was above average. But the table were design for small people. Very uncomfortable for my 5'9 self. I had to seat with my legs stretch out on the side and hold my plate in my hands in order to consume my meal. If you are above 5'5" you can't fit your legs under the table. If you can forgo all the little kinks, you will enjoy your stay. I will come back but in the future, I will make sure I have a room that has curtains and a refrigerator or blinds that work.

Room Tip: Make sure your room has blinds that work and refrigerator.

This place is a dump, in our opinion. The fiberboard "furniture" was chipped and dirty. The carpet was filthy. There was a weird smoky smell in the room. We met two other groups. One said their room was much smaller than advertised. The other said their room stunk. The mattress was soggy, there was no counter in the bathroom. We stayed the night before in Manhattan for less. Horrible, horrible, horrible.

Hello Silverpony46,

I am very sorry to hear that your stay at Hotel Vetiver was not as enjoyable. We work hard at keeping all of our guest satisfied in every way possible. If we missed something or dropped the ball in our service we do appreciate feedback whether it be good or bad so we can assure it not happening again.

Our housekeeping team is dedicated in servicing all rooms and common areas with very close attention to detail. It is rare for us to receive a comment of this nature but I plan to get to the bottom of it.

I will also like to speak to you and others in your group regarding the inconvenience and offer some type of compensation due to this matter. Once again I do apologize for your experience and hope to hear from you directly.

We recently stayed here during a trip to NYC, it was a good experience. The place is clean and feels comfortable. Breakfast was included and it was very close to a subway station, also convenient to LGA. Staff was friendly and helpful. We felt the price we paid was valuable. Will stay there again for our next visit.

We stayed from 13 may 2014 for 6 nights in a (Executive Queen with Kitchenette and Balcony)
We paid euro 1050 for 6 nights, this is not very cheap!!but considering that we had the opportunity to cook something in the room, overall the price was reasonable.
Breakfast was included in the price and for us it was not as bad as described by other reviewers.
Nearby there is a supermarket where you can buy the necessary. The room is spacious as was the bathroom
unfortunately there is not bidet and shower is not flexble. Metro station is located 100 meters from which 2 stops you can reach the center, in the room there is a 32 – inch TV and good WI-FI
From JFK airport you can reach the hotel by metro and airtrain. Overall we enjoyed our stay
