“We can't wait to go back!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2010

We absolutely LOVED this hotel - it is unique! We can't wait to go back again!! The beaches were spotless, we loved the little "pocket" areas where guests could relax under thatched umbrellas or palm trees, we loved the wooden double sunbeds dotted along the beach - beautiful! A stunning setting for a wedding on the beach. The food was to die for - a stunning variety - I don't have enough words to praise this hotel. The few dinner tables set around the pool area at sunset provides a beautiful ambience... The best is that it is only 15 mins from the airport. Each morning we sat on the deserted beach at 5.30 am with a cup of tea to watch those amazing sunrises... to sum up - we can't wait to go back...!

We stayed here for a week in January on half-board. If you are not on the all inclusive then drinks and food prices, including mini bar, are prohibitive. eg. 2x Preskil cocktails €13.00, small glass white wine €5.00, small glass red wine €4.50, can cool drink €2.50, can beer €3.00, 200ml milk €1, 500ml sparkling water €1.50, all prices not including 15% VAT added on afterwards! Internet access is very slow at times and at €11 for one hour, expensive. Also wireless connection for your laptop only in the main area. However there is a separate internet room with 2 pcs which you can use with your purchased access card. Food and service in the Tapas Grill was very good and you can have either a la carte or pay €15 supplement for set menu, as was Charka Steakhouse. Otherwise buffet food was very bland, standard fare, not much variety at all and hardly any fish. The bread and pastries were however delicious. Our room was a Prestige Cottage No 347 which was beautiful and could not be faulted. Flat screen TV, robes, slippers, good bathroom with separate toilet, nice verandah leading straight onto the beach. Lovely to sit here at lunch time and eat your ham and cheese rolls made in the dining room at breakfast time, followed by a couple of small pastries and in the evening drink your beers (and wine which you have brought with you). Tip if you are on half-board - take a taxi to the London supermarket just down the road (or walk - about 15 minutes) and stock up with quarts of Phoenix beer (half the price of cans), cool drinks, crisps, milk, etc, and stick them in your mini bar. Supermarket prices: quart Phoenix beer Rs37.50, bottle coke Rs16.00, chunky kit kat Rs17.00, 1lt milk Rs39.00. Hotel taxi prices return (day time) London supermarket Rs150, airport Rs800, trip to the north Rs2500, Port Louis Rs1800. However you can get cheaper taxis at London supermarket or just start walking down the road. Hotel staff were all extremely nice and very helpful. If you have your own snorkeling equipment, you can snorkel right from the beach and see quite a variety of fish. You do need booties to walk in the sea and the beach is quite rough on your soles without them. The situation is really beautiful and very calming and there are clusters of palms, loungers and thatch umbrellas dotted around so you never feel crowded out. Its not necessary to reserve your lounger with your beach towel at 6.00am cos there's more than enough places for everyone. The hotel has a nice daily entertainment programme with something for everyone. The weather was very windy whilst we were there and the sea quite murky, although not cold. Swimming pools also lovely. Snorkeling trip to Blue Bay was very nice.

We stayed here over Xmas and New Year - what an experience.
We arrived to check in and were given a cold cloth and a cocktail - just what we needed.

All staff were very friendly and nothing was a trouble.

We stayed on half board and did find staying for 11nts that it became quite expensive to eat lunch and have drinks. We didn't find out until half way through out stay that we could have upgraded to all inclusive.

We found that everything seemed to have a supplement added on to it - when we arrived we had just came from staying with relatives in South Africa - we had washed out clothes but Le Preskil does not supply irons- they prefer you to use their laundry service at 3 euros per shirt for ironing this became expensive - so a tip take an iron.
We also ordered ice to our room at the cost of 4 euros per bucket - all of these things add up. What we tended to think was what the heck we are on holiday.

Overall we had a fantastic time attending the Managers Cocktail party held every Wednesday a good way to meet people. We renewed our wedding vows while staying here and what an experience - we had our own wedding co-ordinator and everything was arranged for us. On the day we had our service on the beach in a Gazebo - it was lovely. We had some lovely photos taken by a professional photographer - nothing was a problem for him. In the evening we had out wedding dinner in the gazebo -again what an experience. This was all followed by breakfast in our room (our bedroom had also been decorated with fresh flowers and swans made out of towels) a duo massage which was out of this world.

We had a brilliant time in paradise and would recommend this resort to other couples contemplating getting married or renewing their wedding vows.

We have just returned from Preskil. My husband and I travel a lot and this is by far the best all inclusive we have been to. Wine was available by the bottle from the wine list as part of the all inclusive. The food at Tapas and Charka was fabulous at no extra cost. The staff were ever so friendly and nothing was a bother to them, I cannot praise them highly enough ! We had a deluxe penthouse room which over looked the sea the location couln't have been better. All in all we had a really good holiday with no complaints whatsoever.

Located on the south east tip of Mauitius only 15 minutes from the airport ( no aircraft noise) this hotel is paradise, the location is fantastic breathtaking views towards Lion mountain. It is set on its own peninsula ,no other hotels near makes it a very relaxed holiday. Everything is spotlessly clean, the staff are so caring and helpful nothing is too much trouble, be prepared for some serious pampering!! We arrived early one morning but were in our room within 30 minutes after a welcome drink and cold towel. We were all-inclusive which was good since drinks are be expensive, we ate at all three restaurants with no extra cost, all were excellent. The water sports are great and the boat trips very good especially the Cat cruiser to Ile-aux-Cerfs and the glass bottom boat trip to Blue Bay Marine park and a swim with the fish. At the end of our 10 day stay our flight to Dubai for a 3 night short stay was late at night so the Hotel moved us to another room for the day it cost £50 but it was well worth it. We then stayed at Le Royal Meridien on Jumeirah beach this was also fantastic a gorgeous hotel in fabulous gardens down to the beach.
Everything about the holiday was fantastic!

Le Preskil resort was the best hotel I have ever been to!

The resort looked amazing as we came in with beautiful trees and flowers surrounding it. The buildings themselves were very clean and attractive. The whole set up was beautiful with lots of nice gardens and flowers which attracted lovely birds. The whole place felt very safe with plenty of security around and a barrier as you go in – perfect for families.

The staff were brilliant! As soon as we got out of the taxi a man was waiting to collect our suitcases, then we went into the reception area onto some comfy seats to check in and were greeted with some tasty coctails! Definately the best check-in experience I’ve ever had. Then we were shown to our rooms, I couldn’t help but notice the lovely pool area and view onto the beach and the sea as we walked to our room.

We had a lagoon room which was very spacious, with our own balcony with a stunning view of the beach and sea and the room was decorated really nicely. Our room was cleaned every day and in the evening we were offered additional towels and a bed making service.

We were all-inclusive which meant some items in the mini bar were free of charge – water, juices and beer! Brilliant! The restaurants were delicious, breakfast had everything you could wish for as well as dinner which offered a large range of foods. The steaks house was my favourite – the best steaks I have ever tasted and all for free with the all inclusive. Again the staff did everything they could to make each meal perfect.

Both swimming pools were a good size and the right temperature. The water sports were great fun – anyone could have a go.

The entertainment team were so much fun! We are a young couple and there was so much to offer throughout the day, they give you a daily timetable on arrival and this includes some of the activities we took part in – beach volleyball, aqua aerobics and a table tennis competition. Plus they do tennis competitions and many other activities. We had a great time and the entertainment team were brilliant for getting us involved in activities we never would have tried otherwise.

We went over for a wedding which went without a hitch, the staff again were amazing for ensuring it ran smoothly. In the evening was the management coctails and it was nice to meet the staff who run the place. Later on a band played in the main restaurant and we all danced the night away! This is something the hotel sorts out every night a different form of entertainment and it was brillaint, definitely not tacky or butlins style, it was good quality and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

The whole holiday was fantastic, mainly down to the staff who were amazing. I would definitely recommend Le Preskil for anyone, couples, families, friends, there is definately something for everyone!

Our wonderful honeymoon experience at Le Preskil started from the moment we stepped out of our taxi. The service and welcome of every member of staff could not have been better judged.

Although we arrived at 9am, after being able to shower and change, within an hour our room was ready for us and what a lovely room it was. We stayed in one of the Prestige Cottages that looked out to sea. What a view!

The main room was generously sized with a massive bed (!) looking out to sea, telly, dressing table, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities, big wardrobes with a built-in safe, and double doors out to our private terrace. The bathroom was also good sized with a great corner bath and powerful and hot shower, The toilet was in a separate room.

The rooms are cleaned every morning and there's a turnover service every evening.

The food is excellent. We were 'all-inclusive' and were pleasantly surprised at the quality and variety of the food on offer at all mealtimes. As well as the main buffet restaurant, there are also 2 separate a la carte restaurants - pre-booking is required for these but all-inclusive provides unlimited use at no extra charge.

We were also pleased that the all-inclusive package allowed a large selection from the Wine List, rather than the usual nasty house wine that we've had to endure at other all-inclusive resorts. The bar waiter service was excellent, all staff could not do too much for you, and the menu includes a wide range of cocktails and local and international beers and spirits. I recommend the New Grove Brun rum!!

The beach, although artificial, was clean and had more than enough comfortable sun loungers with plenty of shade. Beach Boys were on hand to take drink/food orders from the comfort of your lounger, whilst the licenced Beach Hawkers were unobtrusive. Plenty of activities are on offer, including free water-skiing, wind-surfing, pedal boats, kayaks, glass bottom boat trip, snorkelling and tennis.

Entertainment was pretty standard fare - however we did particularly enjoy the Mauritian cultural evening.

Because we were honeymooners we were treated to a Candlelit dinner which we chose to have in the seafront Gazebo. Having it in the the Gazebo costs an extra €50, but is worth every cent - an experience not to be missed!

Every Wednesday evening 6pm to 7pm, is the Manager's Cocktail Party. Free cocktails all round! It should be noted that the management though make a real effort to speak to all guests - not just on Cocktail night.

Would recommend that whilst there that you enjoy a Spa experience, we were given a complimentary duo massage.
