Carol and Pete are wonderful hosts at a beautiful historic Victorian home. Our family took over the whole Inn and we were made to feel like home. The accommodations are clean and very comfortable and the view is just amazing. The breakfast was second to none and the front porch is very large and could easily accommodate us all. I would not hesitate to visit again and recommend them highly.

We booked a night's stay at the Margaretville Mountain Inn, however didn't stay. Upon arrival we were stunned by the uncared for appearance of the home. The barn was falling in, the porch was in need of paint and the wicker furniture was sorely worn and cushions faded. Everything looked neglected and tired. The site was beautiful and the home reflected an elegance that once was, but not maintained. We were greeted by a teenager who had no knowledge of our reservation and was less than welcoming. Inside the house was dark with curtains drawn and in need of a serious cleaning. We were able to pay a $7 fee and were released from our commitment with them. I would NOT recommend this B&B to anyone. There ads are totally misleading.

False allegations! All we can say is that this is a completely fabricated review written out of the spite of having been charged a $7 admin fee when cancelling their reservation upon arrival. This guest never even stepped foot in our establishment sending her husband instead who raved about the facility during his tour. Not only is this review shocking in its absurd misstatements but also harmful to the reputation of our staff who take great pride in their attention to detail of every aspect our our B&B. As readers peruse our many other testimonies from numerous other guests there is an obvious disparity and disconnect from reality in this potential guest's review. The glowing reviews we've received from other guests highlight our beautiful facilities, the elegant amenities and outstanding service our establishment has continually offered guests from around the globe. It's a shame that reviews like this one do not come with a built in integrity meter.

Wonderful breakfast this morning, lovely room, large bathroom, and best of all super large hot tub!
Great price for two days and 9 miles to skiing, very relaxing, no noise just peace and serenity!
Left two comfy robes for us to use while we stayed here to make us feel at our own home and very close to get restaurants to eat too.

Room Tip: All the rooms seem nice but if you want a king bed I believe there is only one that I saw.

My wife and I recently enjoyed a comfortable quiet fall night stay at this lovely inn. The room was charming and the attached bathroom all you could ask for. The Queen size bed was very comfortable and everything was spotless. There is a first floor den and sitting room for guest use where I spent an evening reading after dinner. The outside porch was a delightful place to sit and watch the occasional car go by amid all the fall colors. Bear, the dog, provided great company. The breakfast in a beautiful dinning room was delicious and included choice of eggs or waffles. Our hosts Carol and Peter were gracious and Carol really made our trip perfect by suggesting a leaf peeping route which we throughly enjoyed and would not have taken otherwise. The inn is just minutes from the small country town of Margaretville where you can eat dinner.

My wife and I took our 5 month old daughter for a three night stay over the 4th of July weekend and we would recommend the Margaretville Mountain Inn to anyone. Peter was a great host and the breakfasts were delicious. The B&B is in a beautiful setting with picturesque views and a lovely porch to sit out and enjoy them. We stayed in the Lavender Room which has a small ensuite bathroom. The room wasn't that big but was clean and was large enough for us to fit a travel crib for our daughter. The room has a window AC unit which kept us cool in some pretty warm weather. The B&B is located outside of Margaretville but is a short drive into town and isn't too far from other small villages like Roxbury and Andes.
