Attended a wedding at Riviera. Spacious parking lot. The place is tucked in off the highway near a residential area which is quaint. The cocktail hour was outside near the dock. The tide was low and Long Island's waters smell pretty bad but the garden and gazebo make beautiful photo-ops and the patio is elegantly done in brick.

They do a bar outside and food over burners including a pasta made to order on hot plates which is tasty. I recommend the shrimp and rice. The mushrooms are very tasty.

I'd stick with hard alcohol because the wine is not impressive if you're a wine drinker but the champagne for the toast was crisp and tasty.

They have a lot of great options for dessert including ice cream sundaes or a la mode for other desserts. They have Italian cookies and they put out your wedding cake in addition to a chocolate fountain with fondue snacks to dip in.

The entree options were salmon and filet with potatoes and greens. We went with the filet and it was cooked well. The sides were also tasty.

For a wedding the food was very good.

The venue inside has a great sized dance floor if your party is 100-150ish people. There is a Romeo & Juliet looking balcony above the dance floor where the bride and groom can go up and see everyone or if the ceremony is performed inside because of rain, I'm sure it helps make the ceremony more visible.

The internal decor is simple but nice. The bathrooms are well kept. And the bar is well placed so there isn't a back up in the seating area or on the dance floor.

The bar was closed when we first came in from cocktails until right after the speeches (done right away). Check into that if you're thinking of having a wedding.

After much research and visiting reception halls in the Tri-state area, my wife and I chose The Riviera At Massapequa for our wedding. It was a perfect fit for us, not too large, water-front and great food.

The Riviera At Massapequa was established in 1926 and has been family owned for over 50 years. It sits on the Great South Bay and has beautifully manicured lawns and gardens. This review will focus on the aspects of the hall as a wedding location. The Riviera can host wedding ceremonies as well as receptions; we had both there. There are several location for the ceremony, the most popular being inside on the dance floor and outside in the gazebo and lawn overlooking the Great South Bay. Both locations can be decorated to suite your needs.

We had originally tried to have our event outside but given April's fickle weather, we had to push it inside. They worked with us and waited as long as possible, a couple hours before our event, before making the final decision. Our cocktail hour was held in rooms away from the main dining area but could have also been held outside on their patios. Our ceremony was held on the dance floor which was decorated and filled with chairs so it was not obvious that it was the dance floor. The reception area also overlooked the Great South Bay and had views of the gardens, patio and gazebo.

The staff at the Riviera was very helpful in planning our wedding and had some great ideas and suggestions. They also had a list of suggested vendors for DJs, flowers, cakes, priests and rehearsal dinner venues that have all worked with them previously. Our flowers, DJ and priest were all recommended by them. We were able to have a food tasting during one of their events to sample the food.

After much debate we finally settled on a menu and were very happy with all of our selections. Everything was delicious and filling. The bar was fully stocked with high quality liquors. Our menu is listed below:

Carving Station: Brisket of Beef With Mushroom Gravy & Roast Turkey With Cranberry Sauce

Passed Hors Dourves: Clams Casino, Scallops With Bacon, Franks In Blankets

Hot Chafing Dishes: Sesame Chicken With Chinese Vegetables, Paella, Fried Calamari, Italian Meatballs, Beef Stroganoff, Eggplant Rollatini, Sausage & Peppers, Chicken Marsala

Appetizer: Bruschetta With Tomato, Red Onion, Garlic, Mozzarella, Black Olives

Salad: Tossed Salad

Dinner: Chicken Cordon Bleu With Ham & Swiss Cheese, Veal Scaloppini, Prime Rib of Beef Au Jus, Flounder Stuffed With Crab Meat, Scallops & Shrimp, Potatoes: Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Dessert: Cake, Viennese Hour

Since my Grandparents had celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary at the Riviera, they threw in some extras for us: a Pasta Station (Tortellini Alfredo, Rigatoni Ala Vodka and Stuffed Shells) and a Chocolate Fountain. I highly recommend the Chocolate Fountain, it was a huge hit!

We could not have been happier with our choice of venues for our wedding. Everything turned out perfectly. The staff was very helpful and answered questions we didn't know we had. They helped us have a wedding that was talked about for months!

If you are looking for a great catering hall or wedding venue, you need not look further than here.
