Nice family restaurant with a variety of sandwiches, 2 soup offerings daily, a case full of sweet "stuff" and ice cream. Place your order at the counter and find a table in one of the three rooms, each with a different decor. Very clean and cheerful!
Good place to stop if you're not in a hurry and would like to sample Mayville's hometown atmosphere and friendliness.

They have so many different kinds, so be ready to spend a good deal of time deciding what to buy. We were quite pleased with our selections.

The local buzz about this small and inviting sandwich/bake shop is justified. I stopped in to sample the home baked cookies ($.89 each, large and lovely), muffins ($1.49 for carrot or zucchini) and cheesecakes (outrageous flavors: peanut butter cup, heath bar, white chocolate raspberry) and returned for lunch the following day. Vegetarian panini of spinach, goat cheese and tomato on whole grain bread served with black bean/black-eyed pea salad was as good as it gets for $7.79.
The blackboard menu has mostly non-vegetarian choices for soups and sandwiches. Prices are fair, food quality is excellent, and the decor is country and casual. I believe they are only open 9AM-3 PM (kitchen is open 11-2). What a find!

The pleasant upside to being picked for jury duty was having lunch at this cute little spot every day ( the country court is across the street).
They take your order and bring the food to you at one of the small but pleasant table areas.
The soups change almost daily...I had the gazpacho a few times in the two weeks I was there ( it was excellent and very fresh). The tuna wrap was really good and I agree with the other reviewer, the black eyed pea side salad was delicious. My only complaint is about one of the sandwiches, it was very tasty and great multi grain bread, but it was listed as spinach, tomato and goat cheese...there was a nice slice of tomato and the goat cheese was really good but I think I counted two small baby leaves of spinach...that could have been better. But overall, very fast service and pleasant people make this a place I'd go out of my way for.....even if it means more jury duty!
