“I'm shocked by the negative reviews here....”
Reviewed 16 September 2013 via mobile

I really am shocked! My husband and I discovered this gem a few weeks ago. We have visited many times and actually booked our small party because we were so impressed.

This restuarant is a free standing structure located on route 110 in Melville about a mile from the walt whitman mall. The outside of the building is very pretty and there is ample parking in the private lot.

The design inside is absolutley breathtaking. Large windows, rich woods, beautiful glasswork, pretty fabrics...classic elements mixed with a hint of funk make for a comfortable intimate yet spacious dining experience. Proper use of lighting and the addition of flamless candles add to the ambiance.

The menu is rich with different types of fare. The classics to something new...there really is something for everyone.

The food is always impeccably prepared. Premium cuts of meat and quality ingredients used. Everything is made to order and seemingly made from scratch. Nothing ever tastes old, reheated, off, or ever lacks in flavor. The portions are also quite large, so expect to take home a doggie bag.

The service is excellent, managers attentive, auxillary staff prompt. You will not wait without bread or with empty water glasses here. Any problems or concerns are attended to and repaired immediately....so if, on the off chance, you do have an issue don't suffer in silence. Bring your concern to a manager and watch as it is corrected promptly and courteously.

This place is a bit on the pricy side. However, you do get what you pay for. My numerous experiences have all been wonderful. My personal reccomendation is the veal chop and the penne ala vodka. Its amazing!

“Great for a better level of take out.”
Reviewed 1 September 2013 via mobile

Mostly go here for takeout. A little expensive, but food is good. Salad with Gorgonzola and pecans is great. My son loves the chicken roll. All the entrees we've gotten have been good. Big portions. Entrees should come with a salad or veggie for the price. Family favorite. Worth a visit and we're picky Italian eaters and expect it to be really good!

“Unpleasantly surprised”
Reviewed 1 September 2013 via mobile

I don't mind untraditional Italian food as long as its tasty. This place is untraditional , over priced, and not tasty. The margaretti pizza was served cold and the sauce was bland. The cesear salad was also bland and the croutons seemed like they came from a grocery shelf. Not worth the money. Will not return.

“Worst place...”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

Don't expect them to accommodate ANY kind of substitution at all for either me or my daughter. Even the owner wouldn't allow any kind of change/request. (we did not ask for anything crazy.... for example, just something other than the fried french fries that came with the meal) Poor customer service. From the owner as well!!! Ruined ours and my daughter's night~ her and her fiancee had an argument over the whole thing. She was visibly upset and they just didn't. care. Service was terrible all around. Loud. Noisy. One bathroom/toilet per gender~

We got here late but the food was all delicious and a nice introduction to Melville. Nice atmosphere. Not too expensive.
