Came here first time with friends for dinner. Apparently this is a local institution and friends recommended it.

Food and service both very good. Friends had scallops and I had Ahi Tuna cooked the way I like (almost sashimi style inside--raw) slightly grilled on the outside with lots of black and white sesame seeds.
Bread basket is excellent with many varieties.

We have been to John's Harvest inn a few times and we will be back . Cozy atmosphere , great service , and amazing homemade food . They place a basket of homemade muffins, breads , and rolls on your table and we always enjoy it , everything here is homemade , they serve a salad to you family style with your own homemade salad dressing , I had the buttermilk ranch it was delicious. My main dish was the California Chicken I always get it when we come here , it's Panko breaded chicken in a roasted red pepper cheese sauce it's always amazing . The owner and chef always comes around table to table to welcome you and make sure your happy with your meal , we had to pass on dessert as we were full , but they are also all homemade and delicious .

We stopped here when driving through from New York City, based on the reviews you see below, and we were not disappointed. The country inn ambiance, accented by John's collection of over 100 antique clocks, bespeaks the history of the area. The menu is varied, and we enjoyed the ahi (perfectly done) and California chicken (nicely seasoned), after a very nice salad and creative goat cheese crostini. The service was friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. It was very worth the few miles we drove out of our way to find it.

After a funeral a large family contingent of some 40 people went here by prior arrangement . We were a bit early but were served drinks at the bar and when seated were given a very nice salad and then a choice of salmon or chicken which were brought out in a timely fashion. Each was quite good as was the dessert.

Our group had no complaints.
