I've stayed at other Hampton Inns throughout the country, but the Middletown facility did not measure up: The room had a distinct perfumed odor, perhaps from cleaning products or a previous guest. The TV remote did not work, and the air conditioning unit was rather loud (in fairness, the latter is a problem in many hotels). It was late, and I was staying only one night so I let it go. On the plus side, the room was clean and quiet and the complimentary breakfast was good. Incidentally, when I got home, my PJs went directly into the washing machine; the room odor clung to the pajamas. Yuck.
