“Pleasant experience in nature”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2013

This is a two mile walk around Tyrrel Lake - somewhat hilly. Beautiful views and vegetation. I frankly didn't see any super extraordinary botanical displays when I was there on 07-21-2013 but did enjoy the experience. There are benches at many points where one can relax and enjoy either a garden area, or a beautiful view of the lake from a hill. I thought it was a good value at $7 (one person).

Plan on arriving from the north off of route 44. The gentleman at the Gardens said some older GPS units may route you from the south where the road has been closed for quite a while.

“Another World”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2013

This garden is exceptional in its Japanese design. It provides a tranquil walk throughout the grounds including a bridge across a lovely lily pond. The stone work is amazing as are the views throughout the walk. There are ample places to sit and contemplate the beauty as well as picnic spots. Being close to other attractions is also a plus.

“OMG - didn't know some place so nice was so close !”

A hidden garden TREASURE ! Just a GREAT experience walking through the Japanese style infused with a landscape of perfectly manicured basic gardens surrounding a glacial lake. You see each area differently looking from different sides. It was a really hot and humid day, but in that area it was very comfortable. I would definitely bring a bottle of water. Refreshing fountains shower areas with water as well - take advantage ! There is a picnic area with tables and port-a-potty with a soap, sink area outside. 5$ fee is collected by someone sitting in the parking lot. http://innisfreegarden.org/more.html

“Something special”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2013

Came for the lotus and Chinese inspired garden. Found out lotus won't bloom for a few more weeks. But it is still quite a pleasant stroll. We finished a slow and easy walk around the lake in a little over two hours. Note there are no food concession nor bathroom. there are two pot-o-potties at the parking lot.
