Beautiful area to stroll, take a winery tour and sample what I rate as some of the best wines in NY state.

“Beautiful Vistas, Grounds -- and Great Wines”
Reviewed 12 August 2014

We recently enjoyed Millbrook's Tocai Friulano wine during dinner at a restaurant in Rhinebeck, and decided to visit the Millbrook vineyards for a wine tasting. We arrived before they opened at 11 a.m., and took some photos of the beautiful land, and walked along the wine trail, which is about a mile through the vineyards. There are picnic tables outside the wine tasting area, for those who enjoy outdoor eating and have brought a picnic basket with them.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and very welcoming. We were able to purchase some Tocai Friulano, which we were told is their most popular wine.
Millbrook Vineyards & Winery is a great place to spend a few hours, sampling wine, taking an easy walk on the trail through the vineyard, and enjoying the pristine outdoors.

“Beautiful Plqce and Great Wine”
Reviewed 29 July 2014 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

Came to Millbrook last Saturday for the Jazz concert. Stopped by early to do a tour and tasting. Very pretty place with very knowledagable staff. Wines were surprisingly wonderful. The jazz concert was really special. The special lobster roll served at their Vineyard Grille was awesome. Encourage all to go visit. Worth the trip.

To compare the vineyards and wineries of the Hudson Valley to the great wine regions of say Italy, France, Germany or California, just to name a few, is a bit unfair but Millbrook Vineyards and Winery can hold it's own to any winery within 1000 miles. I've been going there now, on and off for nearly 30 years and I've watched the progression as they've grown and matured into a first class operation, with some very excellent wines for the pickings. Now that the winery is less than 10 miles from where I currently live we'll be frequenting there much more often for sure. We've done the tour, which is fun and informative, and the tastings in our past visits but now we know what we like, so we just buy the bottles and take them home to taste and enjoy. The lighter wines may suit the cooler Hudson Valley climate better then some of the reds. Our last visit there over the weekend we grabbed hold of 6 different bottles. After the 2013 Tocai Friulano, which was really delicious, I couldn't wait to try the Dry Riesling Proprietor's Special Reserve and it did not disappoint. Both wines had fresh, crisp aromas and taste, well balanced, smooth with a clean finish. As tasty as the Tocai Friulano was, the Dry Reisling was as good as any I've ever had out side of the Rhine Valley. The grounds are beautiful. Go see it for yourself.

“Very Nice”

Stopped in for a tour and tasting. Very interesting and we learned a lot. The tasting was fun and I was able to try wines that I might not have tried otherwise. We also scored a couple of wine glasses with the tasting. Worth stopping for.
