Just arrived from the uk via JFK so tired family and staying at ocean surf resort so walked into montauk centre and happened upon the giggshak. Outdoor table, some people watching, friendly staff and good burgers - we felt like we were truly in the US. Price was reasonable and wine pretty good. We would go back as burgers were top.

So it was a dreary afternoon, the kind you want to just have drinks and chill w some good food. And it served the purpose adequately. I don't think the service was great, the best thing we ordered was the French Fries. Known for the fish tacos, they were ok but definitely not worth the price. I had beer so im pretty sure you can't ruin that. The vibe ok bustling, but not fun by any means. If your in town and find yourself hungry and there is no wait, then average meal at best is to be had. So many authentic Montauk restaurants, this shouldn't be one on the list if have to plan to go there.

Had lunch at the bar here last summer and stopped in to do the same this year. The women working the bar are great. My husband and I both (again) had their fish tacos: so good! Come with slaw and a mango salsa. Also ordered a pulled pork empanada this time which was also delish. Highly recommend lunch at the bar here.

The Gigshack is a casual restaurant right in town. Their empanadas and fish tacos are amazing. I was disappointed in the mussels this time around. While the sauce was fresh and vibrant, the mussels were very tiny. The portion, however, was large and the toasted bread that is served with this meal is perfect for dunking in that awesome white wine, cilantro, butter sauce. I found our waitress to be friendly and competent (Gretchen?) and our experience was overall very positive. I am a key lime pie fan and Gigshack's is outstanding!
