Montauk Yacht Club Resort & Marina

Montauk Yacht Club is located about 3 miles from the center of Montauk Village, adjacent to a small marina. While it tries to project an air of refinement, in real life it has the atmnosphere of an upscale motel. The public areas are small and in great need of refreshment. Our room was large enough and comfortable with sizeable bathroom, though only one sink, nice tub with shower, tile floors and adequate towels. There is a small refrigerator and room safe, which help for a summer resort. Wood slat walls and blue carpeting gave the room the feel of a Holiday Inn.

None of this would have been a detraction were it not for the price, about 3-4 times higher than warranted. For the same amount, one could spend a night at any Four Seasons Resort and experience true luxury. Perhaps we were penalized because we came during a holiday weekend and could only spend one night.

For comparison, one might visit the Saybrook Inn, across the Long Island Sound in CT. They also provide the same resort amenities, in a much more elegant setting, for about one-third the price.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the water to avoid hearing noise from any parties.

We stay at Montauk Yacht Club in April. The weather was still cold but we had a great experience with the hotel. Our purpose of the trip was surfing. Montauk Yacht Club is about 10 minutes drive to Ditch Plains without traffic. It was easy and nice. The view is amazing from the lounge. Its rooms are a bit outdated but I think they are getting renovated. You can also dock your boat right by the hotel. Friendly service from every staff I met.

If you are looking for an quiet, friendly and convenient hotel in Montauk, I would recommend it.

Room Tip: Get a room with Ocean view!

If you’re looking for an escape, go anything between march and Memorial Day or October to Thanksgiving. There’s stuff to do, fishing, boating, hiking. If you want the party scene go during summer. There’s always something going on. We liked the shoulder season. It’s cheaper, for one. The service was attentive, there were less tourists, more locals and we were able to enjoy not only the resort but the town. It’s really charming and I would suggest either driving or taking the Jitney. The hotel will pick you up from the station. All around perfect!!

This place is a great getaway for me and my family. The Montauk Yacht Club was a great , active getaway for all (five) of us, in my family. Flexible accommodations and something for everyone to do – fishing, surfing, swimming, spa. We loved it. And the food was great. So refreshing to get to a place where the people are nice, the activities are endless and there’s nothing to do but have fun. We would return anytime.

Great romantic getaway from it all. Montauk is a quiet town and this spot is a dream. The service and amenities were awesome. The food is great. You can do everything or nothing – all up to you. The rooms were big and comfy with a Ralph Lauren, nautical vibe. Would return again. And again.

I have stayed at Montauk Yacht Club a few times and it's always lovely. People are nice. Everything is relaxed. Food is great. Movies on the lawn are my favorite. If you like to be in, on or around the water - this is it. It's not a fancy place, but a lovely one. If you're looking for a Ritz Carlton, keep looking. Montauk, in general, is not a place you'd find an establishment like that. This is a place where soccer moms, rock stars, billionaires and waiters all collide, without one spec of pretension. You'll leave smiling. I promise.

Room Tip: Ask for the marina rooms with a terrace - awesome.
