For a little family style diner, you'll never find a more extensive menu. N.Y. strip steaks to Jambalya. Guarantee you'll get a great meal at an affordable price. Don't judge this book by its cover. Looks small, but you'll be shocked at the variety of menu choices and the quality.

“Yum Yum”
Reviewed 10 September 2012

This diner was recommended to us by our hotel’s front desk receptionist. We went for breakfast. You will defiantly not leave hungry. Prices are great and portions are huge! I had an omelet with cheese and veggies and sausage in it. It was then covered in sausage gravy. Mmm. They had the breakfast items that you would expect to find in a small town country diner. Only thing is they only take cash.

“Not the Chef's that I remember”
Reviewed 15 June 2012

We used to eat breakfast at Chefs every time we come to the track at Watkins glen. The service was fast and the food was always good.
We went back recently and although the food was as I remember the service was not. We had to chase after the waitress for coffee refills and it seemed as if she just didn't care if we got good service.
We found another breakfast restaurant in town and we will be going there from now on.

“Middle-America Diner”
Reviewed 29 August 2009

Okay, let's get basic here. Chef's is an early 1950s mom-'n-pop restaurant with formica tables and a menu which includes meatloaf. If this is your thing, you'll probably enjoy Chef's.

We've had lunch at Chef's on a number of occasions, and had breakfast there in June. '09 (dismayed at the charge of $2.59 for two strips of bacon). It's an OK place, and has even recently been repainted inside, which improved it a bunch. Hamburgs are good, likewise fries.

Be aware they don't take credit cards, but have an ATM handy so you can download good 'ol CASH!

Nothin' fancy, but an OK place!

“Chefs Diner made a difference”
Reviewed 23 October 2008

While visiting area attractions, we were caught off guard in a miner accident, that totaled our van in front of Chef's Diner. The management and employees were there above and beyond, giving support, comfort and making sure we were okay, bringing drinks out and then later asking us to be their guests...When we were able to go inside, it was so nice to be in a warm, friendly safe place. When the kids saw their hot chocolate, it was awesome, their eyes lite up with the large cup of hot chocolate topped high with whipped cream drizzled with choc syrup, like the falls in the area, It did the trick. Our breakfast was equally as good. We must have been there for a couple of hours, or more, while dad was on his cell phone making other arrangements. It was so comforting just to be there, the kids, ages 7 and 10 didn't ask to go. I am so grateful for Chef's Diner. I will never again judge a restaurant by it's curtains, decor or colors, ever...(except booths, they do work) Thanks Chef!
