Hal is a gracious, friendly host, cares about his guests having a good time, makes suggestions of sites to visit, prepares a delicious breakfast, & clearly loves what he does. The mountain view from the front, watching the sunset, is spectacular. The back outdoor covered porch with its bluestone floor & the indoor common room, a luxurious barn, are lovely. The rooms are comfortable & cozy & the whole place feels like home! In addition, this lodge is around the corner from the storm king art center. We will surely return !

You can't go wrong here--best innkeeper we've ever met, intriguing decor and informative books in the great room, delicious breakfast including best bacon, lovely grounds including a pool, photo-worthy vistas, located very close to Storm King Art Center. Very much looking forward to a return visit.

Room Tip: Peach Room with king bed was naturally small but bed was very comfortable.

Hal, the owner, is very nice and helpful.

Great location: less than 10 mins to storm king art center, 15 mins to Newburgh water front and 10 mins to brotherhood winery and palaia winery.

We stayed in the yellow room, which was clean with a comfortable bed, but the room is small. The house is quite creeky so it's not the best option if you are looking for a lot of privacy.

Breakfast is great. I would go there just for breakfast, but sadly you can't.

Would recommend for a quick weekend getaway from NYC.

Stayed at the cottage, brekafast was great, perfect location near everything, Hal does a very good job of welcoming guests and giving advice on local activities. Pool is awesome. If you are in the area and are looking for a great B&B, do not hesitate.

We just got back from a wonderful weekend at The Storm King Lodge. The weather was perfect and we took full advantage of the pool--what a treat! Breakfast was delicious both mornings, and we enjoyed our coffee out on the porch in full view of the mountains. The location is perfect--and just a little over an hour from NYC. Hal, the innkeeper, was a great host. We felt comfortable and welcomed from the first minute we arrived. I can't say enough good things about our stay, and we're already planning our next visit!

Room Tip: The pool is fantastic--bring your suit!

Two couples, booked 2 rooms for a one-night summer weekend stay, and were delighted with the location, setting and ambience. Rooms/beds were comfortable. Hal was a great host, engaging, helpful with area info, and gracious with his trombone salute to the young kids visiting with their families. Breakfast was terrific (incredible french toast!), with a wide selection of fresh fruit, yogurt, granola. Overall a perfect complement to visiting Storm King (3 minutes up the road), restaurants on the Newburgh waterfront (20 min) and Dia Beacon. Looking forward to staying there next time in the area.

Storm King Lodge is lovely, comfortable, peaceful and beautiful. Host Hal was wonderful and breakfast was delicious. Hal makes a mean frittata. Thanks Hal for directing us to Dia Beacon over the river. We loved it and we loved your welcoming home. We shall return!
